Hacking What the heck is wrong with laptops?

Ok i i burn games fine on the desktop, but when it comes to the laptop, i always get an error on the imgburn when verifying

My laptop works fine to burn backup games, I always use ImgBurn and verify as well, never had any verify errors. I suggest restarting your laptop and closing down all unnecessary apps, so you have the most system resources available.. then try again.

My guess is that your Windows installation might have a bit of bloat attached to it that's causing the bad burns, if your laptop has never been reformatted I'd look into it, it would definitely speed up your system and solve problems like this.

If you don't want to reformat and can't get burns working in Windows no matter what you try, you could also try downloading a Linux LiveCD (such as Ubuntu), this would boot your computer into a Linux environment. You'd still be able to access all your files (ISO files etc) and it comes with a burning program that should work without issue. Then when you're done you could just reboot into Windows again. Not the best solution but thought I'd throw it out there.

The best solution is probably to format and install Linux, then all your Windows troubles will disappear.

Works fine for me. Using Roxio MyDVD Video Lab 10.

I think it's in wrong section.

I tried burning at 1x speed, 2x speed 4x speed, 8x speed even 52x speed...
Then when it is verifying, it says operation complete...

But when i load via NeoGamma (R7 and R4) it give disk read error...

Also i'm using Melody and Phillips DVD+r

My laptop works fine aswell for burning...
It could be the date of your laptop, or the burner it's equipped with.

try using DVD-R Wii's seem to like them better i don't know why. Could be the burner in the laptop

Try also seeing if your computer has a firmware upgrade for your burner. Check the company website.

I don't think Phillips it is a good brand to use, get some Sony, Verbatim or Tayo, cause I think your problem is the DVD's....!!

try sony dvd+r or -r and dont bother with verify

my laptop burns games fine for me. use -r dvds i haven't had a coaster yet using verbatim -r

I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use DVD+R, and never had a coaster...!!

+R's are ok, so long as you set the booktype to dvd-rom

-R's are preferred though. verbatim's are the generally well accepted brand, though i had great success using tdk printable 8x -R's.

sounds like its more a problem with your laptop though. probably too much bloat on there. even brand new laptops come with that much crap installed on them these days its not funny.
