There was a DVD5 release without Solo mode. (Read: 4.7 GB.)
    Or go try getting a dual-layer DVD-R.

There is a way to shrink it, yes. It's called 'Wii Scrubber'. 4.7GB is the highest capacity for a disc unless it is dual-layered, in which case it doubles the size. Just Google 'Wii Scrubber' and you'll find it.

You would need to buy DVD9's or get a smaller iso that is shrunk to 4.7gb.

You need a "Dual Layer" disk. Probably layered DVD+R DL or something like that. They're much more expensive than the normal disks, and probably come in at most a 5 pack. Expect to spend $5 at least on a single disk.

He wants to burn the DVD9 release onto a 4.7GB disc.
    No go there.

    Darn...this blows big time.

How much would a DL DVD cost?

    Oh right, the DVD9 version...so that's why it would take a week...Anyway.

Ignore my last post. That won't help. Go and find the DVD5 version. That will have bits stripped out of it (such as the Subspace Emissary), but it will fit onto a single-layered disc.

So that's why you sent the PM! Because of the DVD9 release.

Just get the DVD5 version and it'll fit onto one of your DVD's.

So you have two options. Get a DL disc and burn it (you will also need a dual layer burner of course)
or download the dvd5 version. The subspace emissary mode has been stripped of the movies in that version, but it will still be playable.

Strange, my DVD+RW works great on my WiiKey. Even with games.

That really depends on your modchip and the quality of the Wii's laser.

You should just ask the store for a Dual Layer. They should only cost you about $4US. You'd most likely have a Dual Layer DVD Burner if you purchased it in the last 2-3 years.
