Hacking What just happened to my card?

I went ahead and ordered a new one, as I think I broke mine somehow but I want to know if I did something wrong here for future reference. To start, I've updated my card two-three times without problems. This time I kept getting "Card check fail" messages. So I downloaded both the non-3ds and the 3ds versions and repeatedly tried patching them, to no avail. And while I was on the non-3ds one for the like third time I tried re-inserting my card when it said card check fail, and... It started patching! Well, it said patch success but now I can't get it to work on my DSL or my 3DS. Everytime I insert it in either nothing appears at all, like there is no game in it. I tried swappin out the microSD, and no change. I used my microSD in my bro's and it worked fine. I tried cleaning my cart and still no change. I tried wiping the card and putting a fresh install and still no change. Did I break my card by accidentally patching with the non-3DS version? Or did it just "wear out" at the right time to make me think this?

I'm kinda reluctant to post this, but for the past hour I've been trying to figure this out and searching on google to no avail. xP

try making sure it is getting full contact. these cards are bootleg after all and sometimes have issues pressing against the pins in the DS or may have oxidized. worst thing that can happen is it briks, after all a $5 card costs next to nothing to make and you really get what you pay for. none of the R4s have high grade electronic components in them as far as I can tell so I would be amazed if any of them last a considerable amount of time.

I have almost the exact same issue. Patched according to instructions and it said success. It wouldn't work in either a 3DSXL or DSL (that I patched it with using an R4). I've managed to reflash it to other R4i3DS firmwares but all to no avail - it just doesn't appear in the DSL .. I think its goosed and I only had it a day :-(

Development - I got it working ONCE on my DSL by reflashing with 30841-R4iGold3DS_44Patch (its a beta version someone mentioned elsewhere).

It was recognised (Metroid Prime Demo) but when I tried to run a game it stuck at "loading" (white letters black screen) and once turned off it is back to being not discovered :-(
