What program is the best to stream video from your pc to the PS3? Ive only tried tversity and it seems to work pretty good. Can anybody suggest another program to try, that might be better than tversity? Mostly I am streaming HD movies in 1080P or 720P.

WMP11 can stream audio/video. Unfortunately I don't have it... (Mac user), so's I had to set up filesharing on my network... I can download wireless, but not stream :~(

If there's a better solution out there for Mac, I'm definitely interested.

What about HD files (.mkv), what is the easiest way to stream?

Or do you have to convert those to a file type that the PS3 can read?

Thanks for the info!

Yes you need to convert mkv files in order for the ps3 to play them. I use mkv2vob to convert my mkv files, and use tversity to stream them.

Get MKV2VOB like TheNeck said. It will mux the audio and video files from the MKV container into an MP4 or vob or MPEG(you choose). I go with MP4 for ps3.
It will also transcode DTS into AC3 so its PS3 compatible. It takes a couple minutes depending on file size but it won't transcode the video so you don't lose quality.

For streaming I just my use my PC's network and sharing center and it works perfect. I've never tried TVersity because my local network/sharing has worked fine. Maybe if TVersity implements MKV playback without needing to mux them with MKV2VOB I'll switch to it. If that's even a possibility?
