Looks like a type of beetle. I can't be sure, since picture is kind of blurry.

Today i was in my back yard picking up raked leaves and putting them in bags and i founs this sort of ant that i had never seen before... I picked it up to look at it and i saw that it was thin black and had long straight pinchers. I put a blade of grass between the pinchers and when it snapped them shut, all i heard was a pretty loud click... There were a few of them and they seemed to live in colonies (some dont...) so what i ask is what kind of ant is this??

Ohgawd if that was a bullet and i would... ahh thats just too creepy. I dont think its one but idk. I have this epic biology teacher that could tell me what it is probably so ill just sneak this little thing to him tomorrow and ask him because he knows EVERYTHING and has either a bachelors or masters degree for the subject

Dunno... Did it look like the ones in the pictures on the link??? (the one with the 3 question marks) I'm not fond of or good with insects but it seems to fit your description a little too well. Anyway, hope your teacher can clear it up for you.
