Hacking wbfs 500 game limit fix?

There was a post about this within the last month or two about someone finding a possible fix for the 500 game limit on a wbfs drive.

Does anyone have the post bookmarked or can give more info on it.

I looked through 30+ pages with searches and i can not find the thread anymore.

Why does anyone even have 500+ wii games ??
400 or more of them suck imho. Like all those games with the name 'Party' in 'em.

Is it just something like "gotta have 'em !!!" ?

If you need more than 500 Wii games on an drive at a time you have a real problem...not just for the fact you'd make the average pirate look like a saint but most anyone would be hard pressed to find 500 Wii games (much less even a quarter of that) by the end of this generation that are worth giving two ****s about.

It's the "Some Truths about WBFS" thread by Wiim in the Backup section.
The 500games limit depends on the sector size, you would have to reformat your WBFS drive to install more games (at least this is how I understood) and then you would need a special loader which can read the new setor size.
But I agree with the others, you'll never find 500 good games. Maybe 50 which you start playing and 15 which are worth playing.
(By the way, not all "Party" games suck, "Mario Party" is quite good)

loading .wbfs off of a fat32 partition like config loader is working on right now is looking to be a much easier format to work with. no having to worry about wbfs and dual partitions and all that jazz.

i have 90 and am about to go through and clean half of them out.... my wbfs partition is way too big....

HMM as a game colector I buy just about every game even if i dont like it or ever play it, I just colect. I have my priorities sure(rpg/fighter/platform/puzzle) but I eventualy try to gather all the games of that given console. I find USB loader great as I can scroll tru all the covers that i own plus the disk dosent wear and tear. I dont mind so much the 500 limit but its true that my 1t My books wich i bought for my wii are gona have wasted space once it had 500 games my main drive has 500 games and the second one has 92. most crap wii games can be bought under 5 bucks at loca second hand shop(not to mention snes and nes games under a dollar). A fix to the 500 limit would alow me to host all my wii games in 1 drive as the 500 games in the main only ocupy 720 gigs so theres some unused space left. i oculd always split it and have a fat partition but its anoying and time consuming to backup such a drive right now. as for mega pirate lol id say most in my area are mega pirates then as they usualy own over 800 ps2 games and most ds roms and psp roms (its a great fad here to have a DS phat and PSP phat with mods lol) Our local videostore used to sell ps2 burns at 2 bucks and rent original at 1.50 so most ppl just bought SM for 18 bucks from him and simply payed the extra 50 cents to keep the game copy lol. now he sells xbox psp and ds since ps2 has died down a bit and even cops go there to rent or buy (yes he sells theather movies too and does mods) the whole store is inlegal head to toe but the fact of the mater is ppl suport him cause economy for to many is bad (heck before i got a job i would buy ps2 games there) second if external authorities came (as local ones didnt even care) he would get a fine for 10,000 and they would confiscate pirated material. 2 days later he would just be selling again just laughing he makes more than that in profit in a week. Its like walking into a super sized Gamestop (its around the size of a 5 room house with 2 floors) where ppl can play cards/miniatures/and be surounded by piracy. so im sure a 500 game limit for some people is bad. yeah games are crap, suck and wont play them, but for colectors or piracy junkies im sure lifting that limit is some type of economy in hd space( not like i see the point if youre pirating so many games it dosent matter to cost the price of a second hd vs the cost of the games(i should know even at 5 and 10 bucks per disk wii colecting has cost me a fortune))

You do realize to have more than 500 games at roughly 40 dollars a game, your at 20,000 dollars. Stop pirating you bitch. Assume full price games in the U.S and its 50 bucks, so thats a low estimate. High estimate is 25,000.

theres a technical limitation in wbfs and people are trying to overcome that, yet the trolls come out of the woodwork to speculate on how/why someone has that many games

I saw the post in question about extending the 500 game limit. I think that you have to edit the source of WBFS to get around the limit.

Thank you for this post. Seriously. WBFS 500 limit doesn't need to be expanded until there are around 400 good applications that can be run through a USB loader.
