The latest game in WayForward's Shantae series has been announced. Revealed by the company in a simple Tweet was 'Shantae 5', which will be a "brand new adventure", and is headed to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and the newly unveiled Apple Arcade. That was all the information that WayForward was willing to divulge, though if the game is launching this year like they claim, more information and footage will no doubt be given soon.

my only issue with HGH was the 3 part level design. i repeated so many level parts so many times (because of course the design encourages you to go check that one obstacle every single time you get a new transformation).
it's the kind of game you really should plow through to get all upgrades and only then start discovering.

granted, repeating sections is a thing in metroidvanias too, but it never felt as tedious to me in those games

Absolutely love this series. The only thing I will say that's bad is the one time use power-ups which makes the game feel rushed or incomplete. Besides that the whole series is great.
Amazing soundtrack, visuals, gameplay mechanics, and characters. Lets hope they go back to the way the game looked with Risky's Revenge instead of the garbage art style they chose for Half Genie Hero ugh

Do yourself a favour and play through the rest of the series before this one comes out. Pirates Curse and Risky's Revenge are the best imo
