Tried both methods, still get two black screens. The sav gets created (32 mb).
What am I doing wrong?

I think that the problems with loading the game for some people is because the savlib.dat isn't creating the 32 mb save file fine (corrupted).
We need a proper savlib.dat that create the correct 32 mb .sav file.

I tried a savlib.dat in a pack for r4 users, and didn't work, also i tried myself to edit a savlib to add 0xff support and still get a error after YSMenu creates the file.

Something's wrong with mine. I used a clean, unpatched untrimmed ROM and used the 3 files (extinfo savlib and infolib) that you posted under your "EDIT:" section. It launches fine, and it plays the intro, but I get to the part where the green cartridge thingy pops out of Dr. Crygor's machine and then it says "By Nintendo" or some shit and then it gets stuck there, but the music keeps playing. Is this a loading screen or something?

Touch the catridge on the touch screen xD it pops up with a sticker

it worked for me.

It worked when I trimmed it with "R4DS ROM Trimmer 2.0".

Just saying.

for me, it loaded up trimmed, but the next time, it didn't load up...

I can't seen to get it on my TTDSi with newest firmware. Can someone please post a step by step instructions other than the one on Page 3, which makes no sense to me.
