Alright so after downloading quite a few wads from newsgroups, i stupidly installed them before checking what region they're from. With most being PAL my NTSC wii couldnt do a thing lol. So i decided to delete them using the wii channel manager.

Then i went looking online and found out theres a .wad uninstaller application out there.

1) Whats the big difference about deleting the channel using my Wii vs using the wad uninstaller?

2) Does this mean that for my wii, nintendo will see traces of my illegit wad installs?

3) Will formating my wii internal memory make all of these traces disappear?

I just got my wii, so i can live with killing all my save files.

1) It doesn't remove tickets.

2) Yes, tickets say to Nintendo that you've got a particular software on your Wii, and if it will even decide to make a check against your WiiShop account, it could easily detect that you haven't downloaded it from there.

3) I can't really remember.

Don't worry, IIRC, there's no need to format, just reinstall the wads and then uninstall them with WAD Uninstaller

use the AnyTitleDeleter. because my wii is not connected to the internet, i just delete channels from the data screen, i can just remove the tickets later if something happens.

would it be safe then to load up both my PAL and NTSC wad files onto my sd and then simply use the wad manager to clean up my wii entirely?

I actually think uninstalling sucks, because it also deletes your save information. If it's a game that you plan on playing again, definitely don't use uninstall.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
