Is/will the Deck be compatible with the Valve Index, so there is VR with the Steam Deck possible?
yes its possible BUT its not optimised and overall a mediocre experience
Will there be more optimisations or is Valve not interested in getting a good experience witch his Index on the Deck?
afaik they dont have any plans to implement or optimise the vr experience on the deck the only thing they stated "vr" relating was that if the steamdeck is a succes they maybe release a standalone vr headset to combat the oculus quest 2
...hmm....thanks...that's not what i want to read/hear.
I'm not sure to what degree you follow the steam deck announcements, but valve was very clear vr games wouldn't be supported (they even consistently used vr games to show in the 'unsupported' category back in January) . I get its not what you want to hear, but the device was never designed around it to begin with.
