I got a new flash drive for my Wii to play backups after my external SSD died. It's a 512gb Patriot Supersonic Rage Elite. I don't know if it's the drive or a setting but games load slowly upon the first load. Once I click on the game the game screen is supposed to come up, the one with the game animation that has the "play" and "settings" buttons at the bottom. It takes a long time for that screen to come up, sometimes 20 seconds or so. After that, it's fine but it happens any time a new game is loaded. Even the menus in usbloadergx take a long time if I make a change. Backing out to the previous menu takes a long time. It's probably a combination of a setting and the drive itself. I read usbloadergx caches game titles but it should also scan the file for the titleID. How is that supposed to work? I have a wbfs folder with all my wbfs files in it. They are titled like: "Title of Game [GAMEID].wbfs"
Is that correct or do they need to each be in their own subfolder?

Hello.:)

Maybe your USB Drive is too "new".It is an USB 3.1 as i read it correct from the Amazon Site and it has partially terrible Ratings from the Users about the Speed:

https://www.amazon.com/Patriot-512G...show_all_btm?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews

How is your Stick formatted please ?
Your Game Files are correct stored.Did you used the WiiBackupManager for the Game Transfer ?

Thank you.:)

That's what I'm wondering. I wanted a drive I could use on other things, plus I don't think they are making 512GB drives in USB 2.0 anymore. It's fat32 with 32k clusters. I formatted it with wiibackupmanager but I just transferred them with the OS. I just tried fceultragx and it has similar issues. I really don't want to have to buy another. I also got a 512gb SD only to find out usbloadergx only load GC from sd.

Unfortunately, it is not always best to use the latest USB sticks for USBLoader GX.
If you want to stay on your USB Stick, you have Alternatives (but no Warranty that it works for you).

Maybe you have more Luck with @Badablek´s TAB MOD USBLoader GX v3.0 r1271.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/usbloader-gx-tab-mod-issue.548771/

You can also try @fledge68´s WiiFlow as Alternative, also an very good USBLoader and excellent Game compatibility.Maybe that one works a little better with your USB Stick.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiiflow-lite.422685/

You can also try Config USBLoader to start Wii Games from SD Card if you really want this.
I tried this yesterday the first time with Zelda Skyward Sword,it works with a little "issues" (it shows the Game many, many times on the Game selection Screen...:D).

And please always use the WiiBackupmanager for Game/ISO Transfer.

Good luck.
Thank you.:)

A little Note please:

I do not think,it has to do with the cIOSes on your Wii´s Softmod. They are "main responsable" that your USB Devices and Game Loading works correct.
To get sure, all is working correct, would you be so kind and post a sysCheck for us please ?

Here is a little Help if you need some:
