-usb loader gx and cfg can rip to a FAT32 partitioned drive just as well (NTSF is a bit buggy, last I heard).

The problem with NTFS is that you cant install games using the usb loader... only by transfering via pc.

I've decided to go with WBFS format.

now the only way to copy games onto the HDD is by ripping the DVDs right?

oh and another thing...I formatted my drive to WBFS but my pc can still see it and access it lol

I'm running windows 7 32-bit

that or use ISO files (you can obtain)
and that's normal your pc can't read wbfs formats. don't let it format otherwise it will erase all your games

those who say you can't use the hdd once you format it to wbfs on the pc. WRONG! try partitions i've done it with my 120gb. 60 gb for wii and 60 for pc/backup storage

It's pretty common for people to name the dol file something unique if they just distribute it alone and not in a folder, but you will ALWAYS need to rename it boot.dol for it to work.

didn't know that, changed it to boot.dol and it works like a charm.

thanks!

or not! program loads great, recognizes my HDD,recognizes the game installed with WBFS manager from my pc but when I try to install a new game it does nothing.
there's not even a bar to show progress...I press "install" and I'm left looking at the usb loader gx menu screen(without all the buttons)

now what? lol

finished installing muramasa(0,70GB) succesfully,took about 5 minutes.

I wouldn't say it was out of date. I still recommend formatting to WBFS, just because its so easy to use.

No it can't.

The only way to play Gamecube games from usb is by using a WODE.
