QUOTE(jono@home @ Apr 17 2009, 04:23 AM) i have a samsung 32 inch using PAL 480p tv ratio set @ 16:9, Ive even tried it on the 40 inch we have in the house...

130 x 225 is simply too wide..

120 x 225 is perfect for PAL... almost perfect regarding the dvd case ratio..

NTSC yes for 130 x 225. reason being the image stretches further on the screen than PAL and 120 width size would look as some have said.. too thin.

Hence the need for smaller backgrounds for NTSC over PAL...

When you think about it logically with the differences between PAL and NTSC it makes perfect sense..

Did you try using this http://bluetain.com/dropspace/resize3.php?size=130x225 and measuring the box to see if its square. We are measuring this not "eying" it. Can any other pal user try that image and confirm?

I have no Idea how to get the Coordinates, would be nice if someone can say me how to do it....thanks in Advance

.

Don't now about other people but i get coords before you resize widescreen from my photo package. When I move the pointer to the left top hand corner of cover or console areas the x,y coords are diplayed in photoshop taskbar, I then check it on the wii and fine adjust in config.txt if needed.

So your coords for cover displays 50,109 and console displays 331,78,?,?
? being the size of the console you want to display.

For widescreen:
So what about the cover downloading now? What are the plans for future versions?
A new download path pointing to a server with already resized images?
And why is there a seperate path for widescreen images, I don't see the point of that

Blue-K, if you want to get the coordinates using photoshop, when you have your image, use the arrow to hover over the top left corner of where you want the console to begin from, it should tell you in the top rights where it has al the colour settings and stuff what the coordinates are along with the size.

like I said, im PAL so im confused to what your saying about needing 120px for PAL. I just did a quick size comparison to a real wii game cover.

Physical Retail Wii game cover = 13cm x 18.2cm
USBLoader cover image on TV = 18.1cm x 25.1cm (when using 16:9 layout and 130x225px images)

so by those rough figures we are [width = 1.39:1] and [height = 1.37:1] which is pretty close, considering we cant use 129px or 131px image width 130px is perfect

your using NTSC settings on PAL.. being 480p/480i so yes it will look ok.. If you use the default PAL settings for PAL which I use and prefer (gives better clarity over 480i and I don't have a componant cable - yes I know you it can effect fps in some games)... you will require 120x225

Could someone explain what the TITLES.txt does and how it works and where it goes?

Does this mean I don't have to batch fix all my titles or rename the indvidually?

Still trying to get caught up on the topic here. It grows so quickly and I am still learning.

Tested it on my PAL widescreen LCD TV and its fine.
Id leave the boxart at 130x225 and keep it standard for everyone, pal and ntsc users.

Just need some new background images now that use this new size

as i say its fine for 480i/ 480p NTSC/PAL

But not for Default Pal settings..

looks like I am going to have to get a componant cable as 480i looks pap on my hdtv...

The titles.txt goes in your apps folder apps/usbloader/

whatever you put in the titles.txt overwrites what the game is called on the loader
So .. without anything in titles.txt the game Deblob says 'Debob7' in the usbloader
if you put the following line in titles.txt

R6BX78 = De Blob

then it will read 'De Blob' in the usbloader

I come to that:
CODEconsole_coords = 261,71,337,302
covers_coords = 39,110
console_color = 15,0
entry_lines = 12

But I always have a black screen

...should be right anyways...can somebody test?

yeh why you get the same set up as NTSC resoloution with that... 480i/480p, hence why I said after correcting myself you will view the covers ok.. @ 130 x225

deafult pal.. however won't.. hence my argument..

Deal extreme are selling componant cable for $5 with free delivery.. so that should solve that problem for me...
