@blackb0x

Is it possible to implement a feature that works like this? I want to be able to change game settings, go back to the game preview (where you hit "start") and load those settings for just one game boot. Essentially, I want to have settings that are never written to the SD card. My use case is having a Wii hooked up to HDMI and analog video out at the same time, changing settings as necessary, but keeping the CRT as the "primary" display and changing settings temporarily for HDMI output (like the 480p and 16:9 switches).

Edit: This would also be helpful for testing game settings.

Also, will you reimplement the auto-update feature? It seems that you have revived this project to a degree :D and it would be nice to not have to remove the SD card every time to update.

Sounds like you might be using a Flash Drive and not a Hard Drive.

That is probably one of you problems. Try it on a Hard Drive.
Probably not since I've been using USB Loader GX and a flash drive since 2012 without issue. Try not assuming that a flash drive is the problem.

I'm not sure what would be the best way to implement that. I'll need to think about it.

You can still check for loader updates from the settings menu. It won't actually find an update yet though, since I haven't updated the links on GitHub.

Yes, but flash drives degrade over time because of the limited number of times they can be written to, so over time even a working flash drive will start acting up and eventually fail. The Wii is constantly interacting with the drive, even if you do not notice it. Pretty sure almost anyone here would see this as a valid possibility and offer up similar advice.

Just trying to help you eliminate the most obvious and common source of what could be causing your issues. It's ok, I understand, do what you want to do and ignore it as a possibility. You are the one that asked for help and I offered up my 2 cents. You don't have to like or take my advice, it doesn't bother me, my systems are all working fine.

Good luck...

@blackb0x

Is it possible in future usbloadergx to display channel/virtual console that installed on sd card ?

also please add loading/progress bar when started a game

i often get black screen after exiting a game on vwii, i already change return to path to usbloader gx forwarder (UNEO)
is there any latest version of vwii forwarder other than v5.1 Fix ?

I'm using emunand for this purpose. It's faster for installing them anyway, i.e. copy wads from pc to sd card, then install them with a wad manager takes longer and more work. Instead use ShowMiiWadsMod 1.5.2 by orwel & Brawl. You can create an emunand with this tool on your computer and add (install) as many wads as you like very quick. Copy over this folder to your sd card and enable emunand in USB Loader GX. You'll have all your WiiWare games in USBLGX now. That's how I use it for years. Works great on vWii aswell.

If things are so slow that you need a progress bar then the issue might be with your USB HDD or flash drive.

Is it possible to debug usb loader gx without a usb gecko device?
The easiest way is to uncomment this line and then compile and use the loader. You'll find a debug file on your SD card.

@johw I haven't kept the tabbed version up to date, but I might update it for the next release.

There should be another update in a week or two. But I'm currently dealing with some health issues, so I can't guarantee anything.

Maybe @Badablek can help you with that Tab Mod Thing ?

I am sorry to hear of your Condition.:(
Please get well as soon as possible.I hope it is not Cov....
All the Best,my Friend.:)

I wish you well
the most important is health

My version of the tab mod improves on that old patch, so unfortunately I'll need to do it myself until I push the source for it to GitHub.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. Hopefully I'll be okay :)

the files in games nkit I was a format that did not roll for the usb loader gx in the wii, maybe for not supporting the wiimmfi is that?

Does USB Loader GX support nkit files?

I thought they had to be wbfs or ISOs only.

You might need to convert them to ISO and then to wbfs if a smaller file size is desired.

Since I updated the loader my gamecube games that I have on my SD card are not shown, what can I do to see my GC games as before? I haven't touched anything in the settings since.

Hello,

you launch your Gamecube games with which loader or homebrew?
Well I'm assuming usbloader gx because that's what thread this is, lol.

You should confirm GX's settings are still pointing to the right path for your gamecube games. Make sure u have the latest version of Nintendont, and make sure your GX filter settings has gamecube games check marked
