I should mention that I am using the IOS249 forwarder channel for USBLoaderGX and whatever IOS the WiiXplorer forwarder uses. I noticed that WiiXplorer mounts the drives properly before reloading into IOS58.

The WiiXplorer forwarder might be set to use IOS249 but WiiXplorer settings has IOS 58 set

I have USBLGX set to display titles alphabetically, and also to display nand channels. Is there some way to display titles alphabetically and by grouping? For example, all emulators, then GameCube and then Wii?

Wiixplorer forwarder and USBLoaderGX forwarder are using the same HDD initialization functions.
It doesn't reload to cIOS, and the channel is requesting IOS58 at launch so they are both using it.

Not currently.
but it's a feature request.
I don't know if I'll add it, but it might be useful.

technically couldn't it be set so that the forwarder calls IOS 249 to load the .app then usb loader gx or wiixplorer calls IOS 58 to initialize the HDD?

I would like to add my request for that feature to the pile then, please. Until then I'll deal :P

yes, use old forwarder version, but it won't mount USB and won't work if you don't have boot.dol on SD card.

I didn't check, but I suppose that forwarder without "ahbprot" in its filename wasn't using IOS58 + ahb, so it should be reloading IOS249 :

Hello folks,

Id like to know if its possible to generate wii game channels on the wii menu instead of opening the loader every time, since i've been playing exclusively 1 game.

Any ideas?

yes it's possible by creating forwarder's channels which will launch either USBLoaderGX, Wiiflow or CFG with autoboot feature.
you can use CRAP which has now been renamed to Wii GSC (Game Shortcut Creator)

search for WiiGSC v1.06b

ATTENTION :
some created channel's banner animation are not working on System menu and will brick your Wii.
The program should have a list of incompatible games, and should prevent you from creating channels for these games, but the list is old and outdated.

if you don't have a way to test the channels (emuNAND, sneek!), or to bypass system menu at launch (bootmii, priiloader), then please, don't install these channels.

Ok, so this is going to sound super newb but, I simply can not find the setting where you set Nintendont to play gamecube games.

When I click on a GCN game, it asks me to copy it to an SD card. I could have sworn I saw the setting to change it somewhere yesterday and now, it's simply vanished.

As far as I know, I'm using whichever version of USB Loader that is featured on the main page.

Using Nintendont r2.303 I get issues running PAL games, sometimes blue screen and other times error message right away from the bios screen!

Be sure you are using latest revision (1239 or 1241).
Go to settings > Credit, to see your current revision.
If it's "v3.0c", you installed the wrong wad file, delete that wad channel (UNLR) and install the forwarder channel (UNEO) and extract the content of the zip located in my signature on your SD card (or USB).

if it's anything else from 3.0 r1180 upward, just launch an update from settings > update.
If it's below 1180, you need to update manually as the update server addressed changed.

I didn't test nintendont for a long time. I'll see how this bios thing is working.
Did you try reverting back to 2.302 or lower ? to be sure it's not a nintendont issue?

It IS Nintendont, I just wanted to make a heads up is all, also I'd imagine 2.302 would also have the same issue because Fix94 been rewriting the code for USB, so the last rev probably is 294 or so.

Anyway I got them working, I just changed the video from Auto to Force Pal60 and now the games run with USB -Loader GX, though I did have to edit some game IDs to have the N64 and GBA injectsto work with Nintendont.

This is bizarre. Ever since Nintendont moved up to v3 (currently using 3.305), USB Loader GX crashes it on launch.

It says "nanGB Sector Size: -1" when launching from GX. Running from the Homebrew Channel is fine.

Is this because Nintendont changed when the USB controllers are read?

Seeing the same on my side, running 3.305 + latest GX. Only have issues when autoboot is enabled; if I disable it, then launch the game through GX and manually navigate to launch in Nintendont, things load OK.
