I have the ocarina/black screen problem too. But i do find that it (ocarina) does work with some games.

One advice ... now I have installed Rev 675 and try to start a system channel (over usbloader) again (with FW 4.1e)
I have seen, that the reason for the start problem is based on the preloader.
If I configure the preloader to start after a reboot the preloader (installed boot.dol), than it does not work.
If I configure the preloader to start with the systemmenu after a reboot, than it works well.
Could someone compare this and confirm the issue?

I will test your preloader theory shortly and post my results.

You've got serious attitude problems you know that? If you bothered to read properly instead of jumping on the defensive you'd see differently. I was referring to the dust settling with cIOS rev 14 and the latter USB Loader GX revisions, not just the cIOS. As far as I can tell the problems only really started occurring with the release of cIOS rev 14.

If it were a simple code problem don't you think the devs would know about it!? Don't you think they would fix it in an instant? Stop being moronic.

Can I just point you at my previous post. A quick count came up with 6 users, out of thousands that use GX, having problems with dual partition. And for each of those, there was someone counter replying with dual partition and it working.

If its code, work that one out Mr Network Manager? How do you account for ALL those who have dual partitions and cIOS rev 14 and USB Loader GX working no problem?

Lest not forget that these are in effect, "BETA" revisions. You test it. You log your issue. You get on with it. If you want to use the loader, then you go back to a working revision and use that. Simple.

Or the other option, sling your hook.

Yours truly,
Mr Qualified Signalling & Telecoms Railway Testing Engineer

top reply, whether its deserved I dunno...

interesting job too no doubt...

you are comin across as oh their is only six of you! deal with it, know it all....

when in actual fact and trying to feedback my findings from testing it to help the developers maybe....

moronic no.. may be a little agitated I guess

or maybe I got the wrong end of the stick... I dunno

anyway i'm not going to get into some sort slagging match.... sorry to disappoint...

Quick question:

I have a 1TB HD that's got all my games on it with 1 partition and I want 2 partitions on it for roms, usb loading and all that. (I want to be 1 of the 6

)

Anyone know of a tool that will allow accurate partitioning without losing my existing data on the drive ????

Thanks in advance.

unfortunately... their is no way...

back up your drive games with wbfs manager...

delete paritition, resize and create 2 partitions.. format them both fat 32..

Use wbfs manager to format one partition as Wbfs.. then re add your games

I use Powerquest/ Norton Partition Magic.. 8.0

However Someone mention a good free one earlier... Easus Partition Manager, I prefer Norton/ Powerquest one though tbh...

Not at all. For one thing, I don't code, I'm not a dev, so what I say has no bearing or does not represent the devs views. I don't declare I know it all, because simply, I don't.

There is feedback, and then there is repetition. Yours was the former, and is now the latter. I'm sure they appreciate your feedback, I'm sure they don't the dash of sarcasm with it.

At the end of the day, why get agitated about it? You've said yourself you have other loaders working, so its not like you're crippled. I don't want a slagging match either mate, but I can't help but notice you glazed over some points of my last post concerning those with the same/similar/more partitions, who aren't having problems.

Now, off to compile r679. Excuse me.

*exits left*

I compile my own too but I've got a dinosaur of a PC and it takes 32-36 minutes each compile

Thanks I know how to set up a dual partition drive properly, I used to have that setup before I ran out of space, it worked well.

I just needed to know if there was a way to reposition the partition without losing data. It would be nice if the loader could do this for you. ha ha ha

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't think any tools can do this sort of thing with WBFS partitions.

Its entirely possible with your bog standard FAT and NTSC partitions. I've done this in Windows itself (expanding/shrinking etc.) before now, and using various utilities in the past.

I don't use ocarina much, but I'm wondering...

Do you use the text files or the binary files for the cheats?

BTW, I don't want to mislead anyone regarding my success with dual partitions: I have not yet upgraded to CIOS rev 14. Everything is working for me, so I haven't had the need. I'm also not sure which version of USB Loader GX I'm using, but I believe it was the latest as of yesterday.

Thanks Logan, I guess I'll tread the 4 hours it will take to transfer my files one way then the other.

Again, nothing much to write home about with this revision in terms of the end user, but what the heck huh?

If something doesn't work now, but was working before, follow the Windows way. Format everything and reinstall everything. That should make it work again
wink.gif
And by the way I have a guide at the site about partitioning. If it isn't followed then you take a risk.

Logan I can feel you. At the moment I'm also using an atom laptop for the compiling. It sucks. Where is my Phenom????

Oh, I just remembered... LOGAN, if you have an email connected to google account (or gmail) pm it to me to give you admin rights to the site. Or I can always create an account logan at koureio dot com for you

So yeah, I decided rather than having us both post separate links - I'll just post updates when I'm on & see that by some slim chance you haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks for filling in my empty spots. I just haven't the time to check for new revs every 5 minutes. HA!

Cheers!
