Okay, exact same setup as old8oy and I'm getting thrown back to the system menu with only Wii Sports on the drive.

And now USBLoader GX is loading up, playing the background music, and giving a DSI code dump, Brrring, then going back to the system menu on its own.

I guess we're back to GX hating 6 people and loving everyone else. pune must have made progress on the AI for it to choose who to work for and who not to work for.

Sure seems like it.

Hi I am a 4.1e pal user currently using r675 with cios38 r14. I have 2 partitions, 1 fat32(only approx 4gig), 1 wbfs (approx 630gig) and I have no problems with gx except none of the channels will boot from the channel menu, but hey I can use the system menu for channels so that's not really a problem. All games work fine, no 002 problems or anything.

Also I boot gx straight from startup via preloader, don't know if that makes any difference.

I do use the loader for game installations though since it would take way too long to dump my discs via wifi to my PC and then install them via WBFS Manager.

Assuming you have a large enough SDHC card, have you tried SuperDumper? You can dump the ISO to the SDHC card, then use WBFS Manager to transfer it to the hard drive. I don't use that method myself, but if other people are having problems, it may be more reliable (and faster) that way.

By the way, is it JUST GX you're having this problem with? What about the other loaders?

no just GX... Every other loader, Every other homebrew, works just fine..

which again arguably points to an error in the code..

Then, with everything exhausted, it's a mystery. And your only option is to revert to a revision that works for you, until the dust has settled with cIOS rev 14.

its got nothing to do with cios...

your a such a fool if you can't see that sorry...

check google code pages for the amount of topics lately that appear with the same or similar problem

the problem arose from revision 648 onwards... irrespective of what cios being used.. (although it was cios rev 14 and 647 worked with it fine!!)

I am 33 years of age.. and work as network manager, so problem solving is my game...

so I am not a fcuking kid... so stop treating me like one..

How the hell can it be a cios problem if every other loader works... with cios rev 14..

only GX has the problem.. since rev 648 so has to be down to coding issue.. even a blind mole could see that...

OK, so it seems to me that some people are having problems with USB Loader GX
with drives that have been partitioned. So do I but my problem is different.
It only works with Ocarina turnd off.

Well this is my setup

First things first. I have Chipped (CycloWiz v2) PAL Wii Running System Menu
4.1E, Waninkoko cIOS rev14 and Hermes cIOS 222/223

My external USB HDD enclosure is an “Akasa P2 Series 3.5" USB External IDE
Enclosure” with a 250GB Maxtor DiamondMax 9 IDE HDD Inside.

My Drive is partitioned as follows

Partition 1 G:\ : “Primary” FAT32 32.00GB (For Emulators on my Wii)
Partition 2 H:\ : “Primary” WBFS 201.76GB (For Loading ISO Using USB Loader GX)

IV taken a screenshot of disc manager showing my External Drive
(Drive 3 marked with a red Rectangle)

I have no problems running the Emulators or USB Loader GX with Waninkoko
cIOS rev14 and Hermes cIOS 222/223. BUT the problems starts when I turn
on Ocarina in USB Loader GX for cheating basically all the game load to a
black screen, if I turn it off then alls good again.

There you go I don't have a problem running USB Loader GX with a partitioned
Drive it only when I try cheating with Ocarina on in USB Loader GX.

if you have a HDD with 2 Partitions try deleting All Your USB Loader
GX settings and make sure you turn off Ocarina it might work for you. If it
doesn’t then what can I say “bummer”

i can second that! works fine with just 002 fix on. I think the nunchuck message is suppose to be there, if you just wait or press A itll go away, many games do that.

You could very well be right, since it just says one is needed not that it is missing and to plug it in like it does with Ghostbusters or SMG. I just don't remember seeing it before, but then i only played it once or twice.

I'm loading wii sports and the loader no problem on r647.

Four_X: That was the first thing I tried.

USB Loader GX r676 - Click HERE to download

Changes (copied from Google project page):
  • all languagefiles cleaned & update latest "An Error accured" changed to "An Error occured"

Both DOL and ELF versions included in archive

!DOWNLOAD AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Note: If you are going to 'test' these revisions and you're having some issues, first please start from scratch. Backup your SD card, wipe your SD card, and start again. If you're not at least prepared to try this first, please don't download and test these revisions, stick to the released stable versions. Thank you.

One advice ... now I have installed Rev 675 and try to start a system channel (over usbloader) again (with FW 4.1e)
I have seen, that the reason for the start problem is based on the preloader.
If I configure the preloader to start after a reboot the preloader (installed boot.dol), than it does not work.
If I configure the preloader to start with the systemmenu after a reboot, than it works well.
Could someone compare this and confirm the issue?

You've got serious attitude problems you know that? If you bothered to read properly instead of jumping on the defensive you'd see differently. I was referring to the dust settling with cIOS rev 14 and the latter USB Loader GX revisions, not just the cIOS. As far as I can tell the problems only really started occurring with the release of cIOS rev 14.

If it were a simple code problem don't you think the devs would know about it!? Don't you think they would fix it in an instant? Stop being moronic.

Can I just point you at my previous post. A quick count came up with 6 users, out of thousands that use GX, having problems with dual partition. And for each of those, there was someone counter replying with dual partition and it working.

If its code, work that one out Mr Network Manager? How do you account for ALL those who have dual partitions and cIOS rev 14 and USB Loader GX working no problem?

Lest not forget that these are in effect, "BETA" revisions. You test it. You log your issue. You get on with it. If you want to use the loader, then you go back to a working revision and use that. Simple.

Or the other option, sling your hook.

Yours truly,
Mr Qualified Signalling & Telecoms Railway Testing Engineer

There may be multiple issues on google code but that doesn't mean everyone on there debugged properly and there are only like 3 people on this board posting about this issue over and over...and over...

All those who got this working must be f'n geniuses.

read the last 10-15 pages..

nope i have a triple partition FAT32, NTFS and WBFS but im booting from an sdhc card not the FAT32 partition and GX has always worked even with cIOS r14 it seems to be a problem with the r668 and up rev of GX with me anyway

but don't compile it, cause it doesn't change anything yet

I know but I'm an addict, and I like looking at the credits screen and going 'ooooh', so I'll compile it anyway lol

And for what its worth, heres r677 - which won't even get a write up as its the same as r676
