Hacking USB Loader GX

This question is for giantpune, I know I should just leave you alone and let you work. But I would like to change my theme for 3/4 tv's if it is going to be more than two weeks or so before you can add support for grid wall on 3/4 tv's. So could you please let us know how its going. Thanks for any info.

It was done but the heatsink/fan on my PC went out and I pulled the plug to keep from overheating. So the 4/3 gamewall crap went bye bye. I just got my PC back together last night so I can be productive again. It only took a couple hours to do so it should be soon.

DISCLAIMER: I give you guys green light to make fun of me as much as you want after reading this. But this is a serious comment on USB Loader GX.

My main problem with USB Loader GX is sort of a minor one considering the convenience of loading games from a HDD.

But when trying to select a game from the listbox, I often end up selecting the wrong one because:
- the cursor is too sensitive
- the list items are not wide enough
- I just suck

For example I try to click A to select a game but as I click the button, the wiimote slightly tips down and I load the game underneath the one I want. Happens to me like 2/5 times. Obviously, I am not a very good FPS player (I prefer RPGs)

I was hoping there could be a way to not have the wiimote pointer select the games from the list, just the D-pad. Perhaps this is just not the right loader for me either, but I really like the built-in update feature (kudos). Larger list items would be great too. Or plainly asked, is there a theme that sort of emulates the main Wii menu, with boxes instead of channels? That would be best for myself.

Dragging the listbox drag box up and down also is quite a difficult task. I can't really explain it any better than this. I just find it really hard to scroll down the page.

I'm using revision542 and getting a black screen. GX was working fine with the previous boot.dol but wanted to use the option of alt-dol (for wii sports resort).

Can someone please tell me if it's because of some cIOS issue or anything else? I tried looking for other revision5--.dols but coudnt find any.

Dude...ummm...you can just point the wiimote at the floor and use the D-Pad and A button to navigate and select your games...

First, lay off the caffine. Then try the carousel or gamewalls. The buttons are huge there. If you still can't click those bigass buttons, then you have serious neurological issues that may need to be checked out.

Are you looking under the global settings or the individual game settings? AltDol option is in the individual game settings.

r554 is black screen of death - but r550 works great! I just reinstalled r550 and everything is back to normal

Have you guys ever sat and waited a minute before giving up and reverting back to a previous rev? Whenever I update my forwarders or my cIOS I get the black screen. However, I just wait like 2-3 minutes and it starts to boot up very slowly (2-3 actual minutes not 30 seconds and give up). Once it starts to boot, I reboot my system and it runs fine.

My 8 year old updated his Wii. It sat black for an hour or better before I could get to it. I have no intention of updating anymore Wiis until the Coverwall and carousel buffer issues are addressed... well... unless something else unexpectedly cool is added or more games come out with different issues. r550 works great! Thank you, developers! I've only found one extremely minor issue and it's not worth updating to avoid. I have no intention of updating my forwarder either... it's the first one I ever installed. Why bother? It works.

I never got a black screen after updating cIOS. The rare times I DO get a black screen It's just GX is not seeing the drive. I power cycle the drive - that always fixes it. Not the case with r554 although I didn't do a lot of trouble shooting - why? r550 isn't broken so why change it? Now it's simply a matter of setting up parental controls, I imagine, so the kids can't accidentally update their GX versions.

Ive only recently migrated over to GX, and I love it. Now after reading the Readmii file, it says that Autodownload for covers can be activated once the system is unlocked. I have unlocked it, removed password settings, but I cant find any option for autodownload. Also, am I correct in assuming that a Global Settings.cfg file should be generated at root? One doesn't seem to have appeared, or should I be downloading/creating a 'template' cfg file?

I have a USB drive (500GB) with two primary partitions, first one is FAT32 and the second is WBFS (active). How can I make the first one active too? If I try to activate it, the software shows a message that will make the other inactive. I'm using EASEUS Partition Master 4.0 Home Edition...

I understand that I need both partitions to be active in order to store the images in the FAT32 partition and be able to play games...

You have to do it that way from the beginning. So move all games off your WBFS partition to another HD, delete both partitions, create a FAT32 partition (primary) FIRST, then create a NTFS partition (primary also), and quick format it, then open WBFS Manager and format the NTFS partition with WBFS. Now transfer all of your games back to the WBFS partition. This is how I did it and it only took me six hours!

What about having two Primary partitions Active at the same time? Is that possible..? You didn't mention anything about that (Active at the same time) and that's my issue... Thanks in advance!

I do it all the time. I use USB for all of my covers, config, ect. and I load games off of the WBFS partition.

In 'list' mode click the cover on the left to download.

to make work wii sports resort on pal consol you must use wiiscrubber:

-> partition2 -> sys -> mpls_movie -> player.dol

extract player.dol and rename it : RZTJ01.dol, put this file in alt-dol folder in your sd card and lauch usbloader gx, don't forget to activate it in the game's options!

launching the game you will be able to see the video of wiimotion plus after it reboots the wii, so relaunch usbloader gx and desactive the alt-dol option your game will work perfetly!

I have that would walk obeyed and has seen the video however if I then the alt dol option deactivate I get a black screen???

Has anyboady got WiiConnect24 working for them through this, WiFi works for me but not WiiConnect24. I'm asking because I can only add friends from my Wii's roster when playing through disc and when playing via USB it throughs an error saying WiiConnect24 is disabled or something like that (The Conduit).

to use alt dol simply select the game you want to use it with and hit setting then you see the spinning disk and set it to on, making sure you have the alt dols in the correct place and set up it the "custom Paths" in the main loader settings
