Revision: 555

DOL
ELF

CHANNEL (by starstremr)

Just wondering if i can use the forwarder as well as having the channel installed? I just want to give the forwarder a go with rev555 for some of the alt.dol files for Red Steel/Wii Sports Resort (when a torrent/dd eventually appears, hopefully later today). I have searched/read back through some of the pages here but difficult to go through all 467! Thanks in advance.

Can't wait for WSR - I've already pre-ordered it but want to play it now!!!

Thanks a lot everyone who's worked on USB Loader GX - brilliant app and also got me to sort out other homebrew apps finally like mplayer.

EDIT: Tried it anyway, worked fine. Just playing around with Red Steel now.

Hope this is the correct place to post this.

Was running the USB_Loader_GX-ULNR-r468 channel and upgraded to USB_Loader_GX-ULNR-r516 tonight.

All looked good except 1 problem, when on the USB loader menu screen and select the wii menu exit you just get a black screen. Have to power off wii at power point.

Went back to USB_Loader_GX-ULNR-r468 and all is working again.

Thanks - This thing rocks.

does this new ocarina option allow us to put codes on the FAT part of the HD, or is it still looking for an SD Card?

Can you tell me how to use the cheat codes?
Where to get the cheat files and how to use the cheats in the games?

i really can not find the info

Hi,

With this loader, do I still need to block the update with Brick Blocker? And I have a PAL system, do I still need to patch NTSC games to PAL to play them?

Thanks for this great loader.

Thanks for this great loader.

You can set the autopatch option in the game settings for the NTSC game and it works just fine.

No need to run brickblocker. It deletes the update when you install it on the WBFS.

Games from all regions can be played. Sometimes you need to enable something in the settings, but they will work

Delete your config file (SD:/config/GXGlobal.cfg), update to the newer channel, try again.

Just out of curiosity, why not use the forwarder instead of the channel? Easier to update that way. You can even store the program on a FAT partition on your hard drive, so you don't really need an SD card. Just throwing that out there.

You can use with the hard drive or sd card.Just make sure the path is configured properly.

Put the txt files on the card and make sure you define the path to them in the settings menu.
Then when you click on a game to load it go into the games individual settings page and you will see
an ocarina symbol.Click on it and if you have the text file on the sd card or hard drive you can select which cheats you want on/off.

To get the txt files go here

I... don't really know what to think of it right now. The interface is the best I've seen of all USB Loaders, but as opposed to Ultimate, it doesn't seem to rip games accurately. I'm experiencing TONS of problems with for instance Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Twilight Princess. Smash Bros. Brawl doesn't seem damaged to me, but it keeps freezing during cutscenes in the Subspace Emissary. I haven't tried other modes. Twilight Princess doesn't even start. The disc is damaged, there are tons of scratches, but Ultimate dumped it correctly. So why can't GX function properly? I assume it's because it's based on the version 1.1 of the loader, which didn't dump Zelda properly either, but I'm disappointed considering its popularity.

I wouldn't mind if those two games weren't the ones I enjoy playing the most, but I'll try Ultimate again and see if it's more stable. Also, using the Forwarder.

My harddrive has 2 partitions, the first one is for th WBFS, the second one is format al FAT.

What is the path to use for the cheat files?

Thanx man!
Two questions left:
- Can I choose with cheat in the text file to choose or are all cheats in the cheat file enabled?
- What is the path to set if I want to use the second partition on the HDD (which is Fat, the first on is WBFS) to place the cheat files on?

DISCLAIMER: I give you guys green light to make fun of me as much as you want after reading this. But this is a serious comment on USB Loader GX.

My main problem with USB Loader GX is sort of a minor one considering the convenience of loading games from a HDD.

But when trying to select a game from the listbox, I often end up selecting the wrong one because:
- the cursor is too sensitive
- the list items are not wide enough
- I just suck

For example I try to click A to select a game but as I click the button, the wiimote slightly tips down and I load the game underneath the one I want. Happens to me like 2/5 times. Obviously, I am not a very good FPS player (I prefer RPGs)

I was hoping there could be a way to not have the wiimote pointer select the games from the list, just the D-pad. Perhaps this is just not the right loader for me either, but I really like the built-in update feature (kudos). Larger list items would be great too. Or plainly asked, is there a theme that sort of emulates the main Wii menu, with boxes instead of channels? That would be best for myself.

Dragging the listbox drag box up and down also is quite a difficult task. I can't really explain it any better than this. I just find it really hard to scroll down the page.
Why don't you turn off quick boot then next time your little jitter hands select the one above or below it you just go use the left or right button to select the next one
