Hacking USB Loader GX - r838 (Does the loader need SD?)

I spent a good portion of the night setting up my co-workers Wii.

I added 20+ games to the USB HD and tested all games, launched it dozens of times no problems.

I have the USB Loader GX channel installed on the wii menu.

I gave it to my co-worker (MINUS THE SD CARD), not sure why..., but now she gets a code dump screen on launch.

I guess my question is, once the channel is installed, do you need the files that are on the SD? cIOS, etc... or can you launch/play without SD card.

a lack of settings files would most likely not result in a code dump. it would just load the default values for each option.

    I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

    Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

    Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
