Hello.:)

If you do it with the USBLoaderGx please try CLEANRIP instead:

https://github.com/emukidid/cleanrip/releases

Please copy the Folder Cleanrip (INSIDE apps) on your SD Card into Folder "apps" and start it from the Homebrew Channel.
It creates an ISO file (you can choose USB device or SD Card) which has to be "reconverted" into WBFS with the WiiBackupManager:

http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/

It is a little more work but this method has 99,99 % success rate.If your Wii Drive is not "broken".

Good Luck.:)

There are more possibilites:

- using SD Card - FAT32 can not use File Chunks greater then 4 GB
- using HDD (how is yours formatted please and how many partitions have it ?)

You can try to use smaller chunk file size (1024 recommended) or use an NTFS formatted USB HDD (recommended because your ISO is in ONE PIECE then).
This is meant only for RIPPING your Games.

Please try this.
Thank you.:)

was able to get cleanrip working on a usb stick; seems to be working great so far; Is there a way to trim down the file size after the rip?

Good job.:yay:

That makes the WiiBackupManager for you then. You can decide,if it puts the complete or only the game "partition" from the Game disc to your HDD.
As you maybe know like from the Gamecube Games in most of the cases the DVD is not "full".And that work makes the WiiBackupManager for you.:)

Can you please post a sysCheck ? I think we have to check your Game related cIOSes and if they correct occupied.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

After finished this process you have the sysCheck.csv in the root of your Wii´s SD Card.please upload it here or you also can edit this file with the Windows Editor and copy/paste the content in your next Answer here.

Thank you.:)

Thank you.:)

Now ModMii tells you that your Game relevant cIOSes needs to be updated:

sysysysysysys11111111111111.jpg

You can now use ModMii for the update work:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

Please use Multi-Mod Manager to install (includes in this Update download also the Guide how to achieve this).

cIOS249 with Base 57
cIOS250 with Base 56
and the other ones:
cIOS222,223,202 and 224.

The Rest is not relevant for your Game Issue. You do not have to install it if you want.:)

After that your USBLoaderGX should work fine.
Good luck.:)

Hi, I now have the same problem and I followed every step I found here. But when I updated everything via ModMii, USB Loader GX didn't find my HDD anymore (wich worked perfectly fine before). So I took a step back and now it freezes again.
I also tried the solution with just waiting and rebooting the wii, but this doesn't work aswell.
CleanRip doesn't find my HDD at all, so it's not a solution.

Hello.:)

That is sad to hear this does not help you.

Can you please post a sysCheck to see if all is ok with your Softmod ?
Here is Manual to help you for this (if you need it).:)

I already installed everything twice (once on my own with Letterbomb and when I ran in to this exact problem again I set everything back and started again with ModMii step-by-step).

Besides that I found out that some games get installed without a problem (f.e. cheggers party quiz), with some the "just wait a while" trick works fine (f.e. Create, New Super Mario Bros), and with others it doesnt work at all (f.e. Micky Epic, Rayman Rabbids Party Collection)

Hello.:)

Thank you for your sysCheck. It looks good.:yay:

Did you maybe remember which cIOS[Base] Rev. Version you had on Slot 249/250 BEFORE ModMii it updates ?

Your USBLoader GX Version is v3.0 r1272 ?

Of Course you have plugged your HDD in the correct Port 0.:D
728px-Wii-USB-port.jpg
Please check in the USBLoader GX Settings - Global settings - Loader Settings - Loader´s IOS --> IOS 58 (and change it to 249 please)

Your HDD is unchanged means

- MBR initalized (not GPT)

img_56e628d28bd5b.png.pagespeed.ce.QTfQCBsn-5.png img_56e6297886fee.png.pagespeed.ce.OAzLplkJBg.png

- formatted with FAT32
- ONE Partition

Please be so kind and check this Points.

Thank you and
Good Luck.:)

Hello again :)

wel at least the sysCheck is fine, so one thing crossed out.

Unfotunately I don't remember the cIOS[Base] Rev. Version I had on Slot 249/250. I didn't even think to check it (and I will put myself to shame like any good modder would)

Yes my USBLoader GX Version is indeed v3.0 r1272

And I would say of course, if I wouldn't know that this error often happens. But it is in Port 0, the one closer to the side/bottom. I tried the other one out of couriosity, but to no surprise, that didn't work out.

I changed the Setting, now it has IOS 249

The HDD

- GPT is initalized
- is formatted with FAT32 and NTFS
- has TWO partitions (Fat and NTFS)
+ was intern my old PC, used as an extern 1TB for a while

Thank you for your help :)

Thank you for your Assistance.:)

- GPT is ok but MBR is maybe more "compatible" (depends on the Brand of the HDD - WD are more reliabler than other Brands, but also on the HDD Controller from your Extern Housing).
- ONE Partition with FAT32 is recommended with USBLoader GX r1272.This Build was intended for better HDD loading, but makes sometimes a little "Troubles".

For Game Loading it is absolut recommended to use this USBloader GX Version. If all compnents "fit" 99 Percent of the Wii Games works.

What you also can try please:
use

IOS249[57] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0

instead

IOS249[57] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0

(you can get it with ModMii/Download Page 4 after using the Command "BETA" and install it with WiiMod Lite or Multi Mod Manager please)

p.S. and of Course your Wii Games/ISOs are checked and ok and you use only the WiiBackupManager for Game Transfers.:D

Thank you.:)

I just tried it with only the one change I made (Loaders IOS now 249) and with the first game I tried it alredy worked wonderfully. I will try aout two or three more, because I don't trust one time successes. If that worked I will celebrate and tell you that it did :)

For your last question: as I really only want to rip the games i I have before they scratch and can never be played again, I for now have no ISOs, only the original discs. But if I ever want to transfer them to a different drive, I will of course use the WiiBackupManager ;)

Thank you so much for your help so far.

Okay, four games in it still works spledidly. So I would call this a success.

Would it be better to still format my HDD to MBR and only one FAT32 patition, or should I leave it for now because "never change a running system"?

And again thank you so much for your help. I was close to throwing everything out of the window
