Hi,
I tried a lot and I am sitting on this for many days and watched so many videos, which didn't helped. So I could realy need some help. Also went to the first few pages here but couldn't figure out why I have the black screen after starting a game with the loader. xD I do find the games on the USB with the loader. The USB is also in the lower position.

Thanks in advance if anyone might see what could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Further information:
- The USB loader GX and HB are installed on the SD-card.
- The game-files are on the USB-drive.
- USB loader settings: - Video Mode = Disc Default - Boot/Standard = IOS249
- USB loader GX version: Rev1271 ISO249 (Rev21008) + AHB (d2x v8final base56)
- HB information: 1.1.2 ISO58 v24.32
- USB disk: 125 GB (USB3.0)

Some of the things, I tried:
- I installed mutiple games with the Wii backup manager. (verifyed Mario Galaxy 2) (non work)
- I tried two different USBs (one with 16 GB (USB2.0), one with 125 GB(USB3.0)), both formated in FAT32
- changing the language of my Wii to english
- loading USB loader GX from HB
- loading games with USB loader cfg -> same problem
- changing the Game's loading from IOS249 to 250
- changing the Game's loading from IOS249 to 58

Was this just a cIOS issue? My issue is similar - launching games through usbLoaderGX results in a black screen with the controller disconnecting. The wii stays on, and I even had SimAnimals launch after waiting at the black screen for about 10 minutes. Wouldn't happen again though.

I can't tell, the problem has not been resolved.

Hello,

Why don't you use a FAT 32 external hard drive?

Maybe you need a Y cable or an electric power supply?

Does a flash usually runs better? I have more then enough space with the 125 GB.
USB-sticks don't need any additional power supply. If this would be an issue, I gues, I couldn't find the games on the USB in the menu.

Additionally, I don't want to change to an other drive. As I'm scared this might resolve in a new issue.
->

flashdrive have issues and are rarely compatible with Wii and wiiU.
Even nintendo is telling users to not use them (even if probably for another reason than putting pirated games on it)

EDIT:
I actually just fixed the problem (well partly). =)
I noticed that I didn't try to run it with the loader on ICO250 (instead of 249) on the USB 2.0 instead of the USB 3.0. With the new setup it's working on it. As it only has 16 GB and the 3.0 has 125 GB. It would be great if someone knows a way to get both running. Otherwise I would have to look for a new one with 125 GB and USB 2.0.

old USB devices seemed to work better, so using USB2.0 drive is maybe another solution.
You can also use WBFS formatted drive if you don't care about putting FAT32/gamecube/emuNAND/homebrew on it.

Using slot 250 is NOT a solution by itself, because your slot250 could even be empty ! or with anything in it not useful at all.
Everyone can install anything anywhere, a slot is just a slot. what you put there is more useful !

Knowing whether you installed d2x v10r52 base56 or base57 or base58, it changes everything !

From my syscheck, I take that it has base57 on it (if I read it correctly). However, I will get a larger drive with USB2.0 instead of the 16 GB one. Thanks everyone, reading trough the pages here helped a lot. =)

Gentlemen I had a problem like that, I didn't run the wii games by any loader at all, everything else worked, CG emulators, SNES among others, but not the wii ones.
The real problem in my case was the problem DVD drive, because even with loader the drive was checked, which didn't work, to fix or change the DVD drive board, or modify the system to use without the drive. DVD, I chose the second option, I installed RVLoader, which is a modified loader to run portable wii, it has some disadvantages, but it modifies the system to run wii games without the dvd drive, solvel my problem.

Hi, can you please help me? When I run Okami (usb loader gx and wiiflow) on my modified Japanese wii, I get a black screen. I was updating IOS, using different WBFS/ISO and various USB drives formatted in FAT32. I haven't been able to launch this particular game for two weeks. USB in down port.
I have a PS2, but I want to play the Wii version. All roms work on Dolphin.
I used ios 249-251 and get black screen.
Used pal and ntsc roms.

In our country, an external hard drive is quite expensive entertainment. Which is strange, for everyone I know, this game works fine on USB drives. It doesn't work for me, although I've tried a lot of images of games and flash drives.

it's only one game not working ?
other games located on THE SAME usb key are working fine ?

that's strange, seeing you tried a lot of image (only one is enough though, you just need to be sure it's a good one using wiibackupmanager sha1 option).
do that check ON THE KEY, not on your computer. the image on the computer could be good while it's corrupted on the key. or compare both file checksum/md5/sha1/par2 to be sure they are identical.

Maybe it's just a setting issue, like video mode not compatible with your console region, etc.
If it's a video issue, you could play with the video mode setting, and the "patch dol" setting, set it to full for example, it will patch the game's boot.dol to add the specific "video setting" you selected to its compatible mode.
But, I doubt it's a video mode issue.

Japanese Wii have more issues with non Japanese games.
So, maybe because of the Japanese Wii, that game has issue booting if it's not the Japanese game. You said you tried PAL and NTSC "roms" (they are not ROMs, they are more like an ISO, even if they are not. We usually call a disc image an ISO, and a cartridge image a ROM).
I suppose you tried the "NTSC" US, not japanese game version ?

You could try to force the language to english (or one available inside the game), you can't force to japanese as the game doesn't have japanese !.
There's also a setting "force country string" or something like that in usbloaderGX's individual game's setting that you could try. But I think it's used to play japanese game on non japanese wii, not the contrary.

Last solutions would be :
- convert the Wii to USA or EUR. (though, I don't recommend it, even if a lot of people do it without problem)
or
- use neek with an emuNAND image matching the region of the game's ISO you want to play.
Extract the game as discEx, and run it from the disc's channel located on neek.

That's extra steps, away from USBloader easy launching, but it's another method to play problematic games on your Wii.

sorry, I don't speak or read Russian :P
I see your ISO is good. now, it's probably a loader's setting issue.

if you don't understand english, I hope google trans is doing a good job to read all my explanation :)
try the country string setting, try forcing language to something else than japanese, or use neek.

OK, can you help me set the correct settings? I want to set the following settings:
Video mode: Force NTSC (USA)
Dol video patch: Region Patch
Game Language: English
Game IOS: 249
Patch Country Strings: ON
Where can I find the *.dol patch for NTSC-U Okami?

The *.dol patch is "dol video patch" setting, you set it to "region patch" so it will convert all "PAL" to "NTSC" because you specified "force NTSC (USA)" in the video mode.

try like that.
if it doesn't work, and other games are working on your usbkey, then you'll have to try using sneek. but it's complicated!

When I click the "get files" button, an error occurs that swears at missing files. What should I do? I created using Modmii emunand 4.3. What do I need to do next?
