Hacking Updating the wii

Hello but of a noob here,

So I just got NSMB for Christmas.

I have a softmodded wii (the only thing on it has the HBC) done with the Twlight Hack.

I want to play my game, how do I update it? The newest game that I've played has been Wii Sports, I haven't updated since then

Search for: New super mario bros. wii all infos. if you update it from wii, and you have bootmii, it will get disabled and you will need to install it again

I highly recommend you to take a look at this thread. And use Neogamma and/or GeckoOS (if u don't have a hard drive, or something)

The NSMB update is perfectly safe, you have nothing to fear from running it. Matter of fact, I ran the update about an hour ago.

Yep, it's safe. It contains the 4.1 Update, which won't delete anything.

Oh, So I can just update from the Wii Sports update (4.0 I think) to the NSMB one without any hassel?

however, everyone of my family is now running 4.2 either from system menu update or from NSMB + system menu update

Updating from New Super Mario Bros won't delete anything? Will Homebrew Channel, Priiloader, cIOSCORP and BootMii be untouched?

I think it was 1/100,000 according to bushing on HackMii.

and to the guy above my post: BootMii as boot2 will be overwritten, but can be reinstalled afterwards. HBC will be fine. Dunno about cIOScorp, I don't follow illegal crap, but I imagine it'd still work seeing as it maxes out the version numbers. Priiloader will stay if you have 4.1 already. Otherwise it will be gone (a System Menu update will always overwrite Preloader/Priiloader, but the update on the disc is 4.1, so if you already have it, you're safe)
