Hacking Updated Wii to 4.3 Still Works

Ok so My Friend Was Playing On My Wii Today And I Was Eating And He Went To The Wii Shop Channel and It told him to Update And He Did...When I Came Back I Checked My Wii It Said 4.3 and I Was Like OH NO..i Used the homebrew channel and everything was fine...Is my wii different im just asking
