Hacking Updated USB Loader GX - GH5 no longer loads

I had GH5 loading fine from USB Loader GX, rev ~500-600, using Hermes v3 cIOS 36-37 on 223. Then I updated my USB Loader GX, saw that I needed the new Hermes, did that, and now I can't get USB Loader GX to load GH5. I deleted my config folder and experimented with different settings, still no dice. GH5 loads fine from uLoader using the new 223, same for my Loadstructor channel using cLoader and 223.

What magical settings in USB Loader GX do I need to get it to work again?

I use Hermes 222

i read somewhere, think it was oldboy.

install hermes 222 as 38 merge 37.
set global in gx to 222
set global 002 fix to anti.
and delete gamesettings config file.

most in region games should work no problem.

i've just set this up and every region game so far has worked.

and 1 out of region - not tested the others only have about 4

Are you saying that with Hermes v4 and the latest USB Loader GX, the 37-38 merge needs to be under 222 instead of 223 for it to work properly (currently my 223 is 37-38 merge and was 36-37 merge previously)? That's a bit silly, but I wouldn't put that past USB Loader GX.

I did exactly as Livy described. Installed 222 as 38 merge 37. Deleted all my USB Loader GX files. Set global 222, 002 anti. USB Loader GX couldn't load it. My game channel and uLoader can still load it just fine.

So what about USB Loader GX is the problem? This used to work before a certain rev update.
