The ndsinfo.dat file has nothing to do with the fix. It's the new ndspatch.dat file that is needed, for SC slot-1.

Ah someone give me a slap! of course what you said above is correct, guess im having a blond day or something.

Nice. Hopefully the SC team will be just as quick for any problems in the US release. Or would a ndspatch.dat update potentially fix both?

still cannot get this game to get past the warp screen. is the save size supposed to be cahnged in the file window on the supercard menu. if i use the save padding tool which size save will make this game fully work.......................sudeki300

If the game is starting and your save file works, you don't need to mess with the save settings or the save file. If you do need to pad the save file to get it to load, pad it to 512KB.

If you've gone into the arena or used the in-game reset to go back to the title screen you may need to reset the DS and run the game again.

Edit: No, that doesn't seem to affect this fix like it does with the codes. How far are you in the game?

The fix does work, I tested it before I uploaded the files and submitted the news item.

I used the other fix at first, but it kept losing my saves, which really upset me when I played for over an hour and had to replay that section, twice.

Think I would learn, I kept playing, played for 2 hours, it lost those saves, now I have to redo all that.

I've applied this patch now, and hopefully it should work. I'll test everything out then edit this post.

Okay, saving seems to be working fine so far. I'll report back if I find any problems, but its all llooking good so far.

I'm just more upset that I lost my creature and all that time spent because of lost saves

the way i have tried to do this is i have played the game with no patches or cheats just before the warp bit and done a real time save. could this be the probelm as i'm trying to restart from this point. maybe i should start a fresh game.........................sudeki300

Yeah probably. I rarely use RTS so I would assume that is your problem. At least it only takes like 5 minutes to get to the warp so you didn't lose much time.

Are any of you running the game WITH the Patch Saver option on? MY SAVEFILE GOT CORRUPT the very moment I plugged the memory back in from having backed up the saves. THANK GOD I had only just backed up. I HATE SRAM! From bootleg GBA carts to the EZflash 3in1 to Supercard DS-One it has ALWAYS been unreliable! Somebody please help me get this working with Patch Saver.

i have given up with this game i have replaced the ndspatch.dat with the latest and in the patch menu on the supercard os i have enable patch and patch saver selected, the save size is set to 512.0k and i'm using a clean rom with a fresh save and no cheats but still i get the endless warp tunnel. just don't know where i'm going wrong...........................sudeki300

finally got it to work past the warp tunnell thanks for peoples help....................sudeki300

I actually just backed up my save a little while ago due to paranoia (my buddy's game save has corrupted four times). I literally just finished all the sidequests and got to the end of the Black Omen-- and the game is telling me my data is corrupted! I keep copying my backed up save data into the directory, but the game doesn't seem to recognize it-- it's still treating itself as though all the data has been deleted (only New Game is selectable). I updated to this newer version, but it still doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something, or is my save doomed?

It's been happening to many, including me. Unless you have a backup somewhere, sadly, no there isn't any way to get it back.

But there is a way to avoid this in the future - always check Patch Saver on all your ROMs. Chrono needed it unchecked until they released the new ndspatch.dat which you can download off their site. I also recommend getting the ndsinfo.dat which contains save file sizes.

Once you've done that delete your current ROM and copy it to the drive again with a new name(ie. "Chrono Trigger" -> "Chrono Trigger DS"). On the new one make sure Patch Saver is checked. If you have an old, uncorrupt savefile feel free to use that.

Sounds good! I have my save file backed up, but for some reason every time I copy it into the MicroSD, Chrono Trigger still doesn't seem to realize there's save data there-- it just says 'NEW GAME' on the main menu. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? All the filenames are matching up, etc etc.

Ok I downloaded the patch from the dl section
dragged the .nds file to the part that says Run_This_To_Patch_CT
opened up the Super Card Program
Added the patched.nds file
clicked out
created 2 files patched.nds.dsq and patched nds.sav
for some reason patched.nds.dsq is 0kb

doesn't load the game

You need a clean rom, the sc fix isn't designed for a patched rom.

BigUncleNasty you need..

1) clean untouched rom
2) 2.68 sc-slot2 patching software for your type slot-2 supercard and latest firmware 1.85
3) The fix from the head of this thread, replace the old file in the patching software
4) patch and play

Yes run it through the patching software. I don't know how familiar you are with your cart but thought I'd mention to make sure you have the correct version patcher for your supercard, if you sc-lite is not the rumble version then you need the sc-lite software but if it is the rumble version get the sc-rumble software.
