A demo for the USA version of Doom had been hidden for 25 years on the Interactive Sampler CD Volume One PlayStation Demo CD.
This build was released in europe back in the day.
For some reason Sony decided to not release this demo in the USA.
A Patch file has been released to unlock the demo.
Patch:https://archive.org/details/interactive-sampler-v-1-teen-doom-patch-scus-94956
Game-Rave.com proudly presents the unreleased demo of Doom!

This patch unlocks the previously unseen demo for the PlayStation version of Doom, as well as enabling the demos for Mortal Kombat 3 and Loaded.
The latter were "removed" from the demo menu to secure an ESRB Teen rating for the Interactive Sampler CD Volume 1.

To patch the game, you will need a BIN/CUE file of Interactive Sampler CD Volume 1 (SCUS-94956 - the sleeve will have Warhawk as the first game listed at the bottom).

Download the Patch and use PPF-O-Matic (http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/354/) to Patch the Track 1 Bin file.
Once patched, you can play it in an emulator or burn a CDR to use in a modded PlayStation System.

Apparently SCUS-94956 is a re-release. There is an Interactive CD Sampler Volume 1 SCUS-94955 that has Loaded and MK3 playable (which is the one I remember from demo kiosks in department stores back in the day). Doom is still not directly playable from the menu on either. Doom must have been axed from the beginning, but Loaded and MK3 probably got unwanted attention from the ESRB so they had to release a revision of the demo disc as SCUS-94956 with Loaded MK3 pulled.

That left only Twisted Metal, WipEout, and Warhawk playable. All fantastic games and absolute classics in their own right, but pretty lame as far as a demo disc to only have 3 playable games.

It's not the movies or games downloads that I would worry about, like breaking into networks, downloading encrypted things, spying on network traffic. I have seen so many "Top Secret" seals on files when I was a kid

I was obsessed with finding UFOs, a surprising amount of US files where stashed on computers in other countries, China back in the early 90s omg sooo much
