does this game add anything to MK or is it just like all the other asstastic games they've been putting out?

looks to be the same old MK, unless that's the one for N64. The juggling is crap. I think the only fighter i can get into is super smash brothers. Now that was ground breaking for the genre... I do like me some puzzle fighter though. Is it like the Capcom Card Fighters? I think it's puyo puyo fever.

Reasons why I hate Mortal Kombat:

1) There's no Damage Modifier, the damage is so high that simple punches finish the rounds in mere seconds (why the hell do you even need the stage timer?)
2) The controls are lacking, making a character jump and attack feels like you're trying to move a rock.
3) The animations for the attacks are stupid. (It's like they never actually "hit" you but you still somehow get absorbed into the attack)
4) There's no training mode.

1) there is a block button
2) hold forward slightly first then up
3) since it is a port they still use hit boxes which are bigger then the sprites
4) true :'(

i cant believe how much u guys hate one of most appreciated games of 90's.
it is still recognized one of best fighters out there, even with next-stupud-gen gamez.
kids these days.
if u hate it so much, dont bother.

well i downloaded this game after to many recomandation....

and i can say...i rather play Street Fighter 2 or King of Fighter 94 over this....totally waste my time for downloading it.

... kid? I still remember when I first saw this game hit the arcade. Hated it then, and still hate it now.

Well, hated it to the point where it was tolerable. This iteration of MK is probably the worst I've seen.
Poor hit boxes, lack of proper comboing system (seriously, the combo system is set and if you deviate by one move you lose the combo), enemy AI seems to be able to throw you from sweeping distance -- as opposed to "close" distance (refer back to my previous comments about crappy hitboxes), etc. There's a lot more problems I have with this game.

How could you LIKE the game after this game being the most disappointing of them all?

EDIT: Also, NO TRAINING MODE.

Same here, MK has always sucked.

The only reason it was so popular in the first place was the blood and the fatalities. It got a lot of press because of that, and parents were scared of it. That's the only reason it was ever "cool".

Haha I remember that, there was like this thing at my school that told us not to play the game. But everyone hated it anyway and played SF at the arcades.

Tried online. Works great. We tried online friend battles and i got no lag cause i think its because my frined lives in the same area as me.

mortal kombat isnt really a respected series among serious figthing game fans, and never was. It was popular with the masses for one reason and one reason only: blood. honestly the games arent very well made so most complaints are probably valid

fortunately, UMK3 is as good as it gets as far as MK goes, and im having fun playing online. its a well done port
