Loved MK on my old gameboy. However I was shocked to find out the DS game is more or less the same.
Well not quite - on the DS it plays like sh*t. And were the special move spoilers the best use they could get out of the top screen?
And why oh why do they use the shoulder buttons? The characters move slow enough as is. Can't possibly get my fingers on the L & R buttons and move the character at the same time.
The only thing I like is the puzzle game; but I installed Tetris on my R4 for that...
Actually I dislike the fact you see what buttons to press for a fatality / special move. It was somewhat the charm of those beat-em-up games to figure out which buttons to press... Somewhat more satisfactory than it is now...
UMK3 had some infinites and 100% or near 100% combos. It's not trilogy only. http://ultimatemk.com/cvids.php have some (a lot actually) arcade version combos for you. See for yourself.
Also you can check this thread where arcade-perfection of UMK3 is discussed http://ultimatemk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2764
long story short - Everything in the videos for UMK3 arcade works in the DS version, just it's so damn hard to do with the tiny controls.(posted by Konqrr, a man who knows what he's talking about)
