Hacking Ugh...all I get is "EXCEPTION (DSI) ERROR"

what the current available free memory on your wii? and make sure your SD isnt write protected when inserting it into the wii(HBC Installer writing log)

Woah, news to me.
How can I tell the memory on my Wii? Does the Wii even have memory storage? O_O
To my knowledge, there is no way to write-protect an SD card through the steps of reformatting it to FAT32, inserting software, and sticking it into an adapter, for use on a Wii.
Besides, I was able to prepare the SD card for IOS installation. Although I couldn't get through the steps to install the IOS itself, that semi-proves my claim that it's definitely not write protected.
Thanks for the sugggestion, though.

It's the one with GC ports.
When I reformatted, the year shifted to 2009, if that says anything abou the year of production.

Guys, I'm going to head to bed, since it's really late, and I'm an irresponsible piece of shit, so I have to sleep NOW before it gets worse.
I'll take a look at all your suggestions, and if unresolved, we can count this as a new(?) anomaly in the late-end Wii hacking community, sounds cool?
If not, it's all cool. G'night.

I think I'll have to come clean with one major fact...
When I tried to update the Wii once before, my internet was having a huge problem, so I sort of held down the power button while the Wii was updating :X
When it restarted, I went through the update again, and everything seemed fine, so I didn't think it was bad or anything...

I might have a case of a semi-brick here.

Ok lets try this again lol.
Things to check:
1. There should be a installer log created on the SD card after running the Hackmii installer. Copy and paste that here
2. Make sure the SD card is not write protected. (Put it into computer, and try to delete a file off it, if it allows it, its not write protected)
3. Format the SD card. (Use this program, https://www.sdcard.o..._3/eula_windows)
4. Load MMM through Letterbomb (http://mmm4wii.poste...od-manager-v134)
5. Run the option "Install and Patch IOS36" (You are going to need wifi)
6. Select the option "Load Another IOS" and select "IOS36"
7. Using the IOS Manager; Delete IOS30, IOS34, IOS20 and IOS10. Reinstall the latest version of all these IOS files besides IOS34. Install IOS34-v3348
8. Also in MMM use the option "Removed Stubbed IOSs"
9. Redownload the Hackmii installer and try running the Letterbomb exploit and installing again.

Edit. Rofl just read the post above me.
After you get this sorted out I suggest looking into a guide to "virginize your wii" (Get all your IOS files re installed.)

What dude? That sounds wrong to me. Why would you do that? An update is dangerous if power goes out, you expect that shutting down forcefully the Wii will help?

You're lucky your Wii ain't done for.

You mean after I tried out all the steps here? Okay.

I know, I know. I was really stupid to have done that.
I can feel all the boulders being hurled at me right now.

I don't know how the installer.txt is going to help, since I don't think anyone is going to bother through the wall of text, but here you go:

crwys, thanks a lot.
This is the first time I'm NOT receiving an instant error whenever I open an app from letterbomb.

However, at step 5, there seems to be 2 choices, express mode and manual mode.
I tried both of them, and no exception DSI error! Wow! it just says 'error getting OS' and returns to the MMM menu after the 'press any button' query.

It says that both options require me to have an IOS file, in .wad format.
I'm too scared to google those files, because I'm afraid I might get the wrong ones.
Could you give me a link to the file, or perhaps better yet, a whole directory of them?

Sorry I replied late, guys. Driving test kept me away from home all day.

Great!
I'll grab those stuff.

EDIT:
Ughh...the menu is dizzy as heck.
Does it really make a difference which revision of IOS I choose? Should I just go with the latest version?
Disregard that ololololol
How do I download ALL the IOS in one fell swoop?
I'm using NUS, by the way, and it looks real promising.
Sadly, I am but an idiot. The same idiot who closed the Wii while it's updating...

EDIT2:
Okay...once I've downloaded the files, they come packed in folders named like "000000010000000A" and the like.
Guess I should just take the .wad(s) inside the folders and disregard the rest of the files.

EDIT3:
I couldn't patch the IOS36.
Does that mean it's already patched?
Also, when it says to remove stubbed IOS, they have several options.
Should I pick one that says to remove 222, 223, 249, 250, and 254?

I've been tinkering with this non-stop, and I still get the exception error!
I...really don't want to...
But I'm starting to lose hope T_T

"Run the option "Install and Patch IOS36" (You are going to need wifi)"
Although I have EXACTLY the IOS36-64-3608.wad, it cannot load from my SD card! Why??

"Select the option "Load Another IOS" and select "IOS36""
Okay, I did that. It's not permanent, though. The next time I booted up MMM again, it started off as IOS80 again.

"Using the IOS Manager; Delete IOS30, IOS34, IOS20 and IOS10. Reinstall the latest version of all these IOS files besides IOS34. Install IOS34-v3348"
This is where it really brings my piss to a boil. It outright REFUSES to do it. That means when I clicked on ' - ' , it just goes back to the MMM menu. What!? Is that really how the process goes?

"Also in MMM use the option "Removed Stubbed IOSs""
I picked the one that removes 222, 223, 249, 250, and 254, and 3 of them failed to be deleted. I forgot which one, but the fact that it failed to do so really says something.

"Redownload the Hackmii installer and try running the Letterbomb exploit and installing again."
It still doesn't work...
Gah! Why am I having so much problem with this??
Getting homebrew to run on the PS3 and 360 wasn't even hard at all!
But this!?...*sigh*

EDIT: Oh wow, semi-progress, guys.
When I tried to Install and Patch IOS36, it actually detected my wad this time, but they failed with an error that says something like (-20015Ticket) or something like that.

Honestly, dude.
Stop all your doing before you BRICK your wii, and have a nice paperweight.
Install ModMii on your PC.
Run ModMii from your PC.
PRINT OUT THE GUIDE modmii generates for you, so you can follow that, step by step.
Get a 2GB SD card, blank.
Put the files modmii downloads for you onto your blank SD card.
Put it in your wii.
Now follow the printed out guide.
Get the necessary game to do the hack, if needed.
Tada!!!! your playing games, and you have the HBC installed too!
Not complicated.............

and yes, I've hacked PS3's, 360's no problems.....

Alright, alright. You win.
I've heard of Murphy's Law before, and I'll take up on your advice.
Besides, any option I haven't tried, is worth trying.

This is what's happening at the moment.
Maybe you should patch up some bugs on the newer version, to avoid an infinite loop like this one.
