Gaming TWEWY Sequel still possible?

Ok, all hope is not lost! To those of you who have not finished the game, do not read on as there are spoilers and I don't know how to do a spoiler tag or whatever.






After completing the game and getting the secret ending, this picture is displayed. I will let it do the talking for me.

So, new character? Seems to be a mix of Neku, Joshua and Shiki. This could be hinting at a sequel which details what happens during the week between when Neku is shot by Joshua, and when he awakes in Shibuya and meets with the rest.

well, i've seen lots movies/shows ending with some sort of clue with a sequel. but not all had.
i don't recall seeing that when i finished, or i just thought it's just something to leave some people thinking.

I doubt the sequel will be about the original characters, not directly, at least. The hints in the first game and this picture hints towards new protagonists, chances are that it won't take place in the same dimension as one, either (as this picture and the bonus chapter hint towards).

But there will be a sequel, there's no doubt.

It's just speculation at this point, but the mystery character shows traits of Joshua, Neku and Shiki.

If it is a sequel, then it could be the 7 days between Neku and Joshuas gun fight, and the end credits where the cast meet up at Hachiko?

I sincerely hope you're right on all accounts. I'm just so damn jaded that I find it hard to believe whatever team is working on the game would create a whole new scenario. It is way too easy for them to snowball this thing the way they did Kingdom Hearts - just add a little back story and a few 'unsolved mysteries', and you've paved the way for mediocre sequels and spinoffs for years to come.

Looks like Shiki grew her hair out and dyed it blonde. Though we never really get to see much of how she really looks like, she always brings the doll with her.

The skirt looks like the exact same skirts that the girls in Final Fantasy Type-0 wear.
The only thing I'm "excited" for is the soundtrack. Other than that, meh.

I thought about that, but after the whole theme of "being yourself", I doubt she'd dye her hair or grow it out (though I could see the latter happening. That said, it could be Shiki, but not the TWEWY1 Shiki.

I think it's already been hinted that Mr Mew became a popular accessory in Shibuya. I think in one of the secret reports it says something like "any player who wins the game goes on to influence culture with their creative outputs that spread and persist through time " or something to that extent. So it is entirely possible Shiki became a famous designer and the Mr Mew plushy became a popular trend or something.

I just hope the series doesn't get sequel-itis, and ends up with spin-off after spin-off before the next in the series comes out. (a la KH 3)

why does everyone keep saying that Shiki dyed/grew her hair?? her entry fee was her "identity" so this could be her true self after the reaper games as the reapers changed her appearance to that of her close friend she wanted to be like. if that pic is a clue to the sequel, one of two things, the sequel is a prequel, and it shows the happenings before neku awoke in shibuya in the reaper game, or it is a true sequel that starts from when the gang meets back up at the hachiko statue.(I want to be known as Captain obvious a alot. of course it most likely one of those two XD)

I feel like this is what that translator guy on twitter was talking about. He said to wait until the countdown was over, but that didn't really reveal anything. I'm sure he knows people were expecting a sequel, which is why he might have said that. All in all, I'm excited

This is what Shiki was shown to look like in the real world in the original game. Not much similarity from what I can see.

The next in the series after KH2 was Birth by Sleep. NOT KH3 as many people believe. Only two of the handheld games are anywhere near spin-off material. The rest had a solid story and great gameplay. I swear I'm so tired of people saying the series needs to stop with spin-offs when in reality, there are only two.

They show Shiki's true appearance several times in TWEWY, she's not blond and her hair's not long.
