So I have an unpatched switch, I tried to install a Trinket M0 as an internal modchip but it didn’t go well. I ended up just removing the chip from inside the switch and putting everything back together as normal. I have made a mess of my motherboard a bit. The switch still turns on and everything works normally, except for when I try to boot into CFW with my SX Pro dongle and rcm jig. It isn’t detected as an rcm device when trying to boot from the pc rcm programme. Does anyone know if there’s any way to fix this? I have included some images of the damaged areas on the motherboard. Thanks to anyone who can help with this.

I still haven't had any luck with this and it's kinda bumming me out. Have you had any luck since?

In my experience, you can only really get good at something by actually doing it.

My point is if you are not comfortable soldering should have sent it to someone else to service it for you, there are guys out there that can provide trinket installing service, would cost you more money to get a replacement unit if you don't know what you are doing, look like your burned the board see pic 1 below and the area circled in pic 2 you should clean that up.

I agree with this. 100% That said, I would not recommend someone's first soldering job to be a trinket. The wires and the contacts are pretty tiny and you need enough heat to melt the solder without melting the connector. It can be tricky.
