Yes, we know that this is a problem with the 3ds's design....My question is: will nintendo fix this for free or will they make me pay to fix the screen...
Thanks in advance

i thought this was covered before and that they won't. i hate this problem too. i have a screen protector on and now theres two lines thats scratched from the bottom. I want to remove the screen protector since i hate it but i can't because then the top screen will be scratch T_T

I finally conquered my irrational fears and just got the damn screen protectors -- no thanks to Nintendo. Now I have a surplus of styli and peace of mind. All is now well in Snailland.

My first attempt:
Got a piece of lint under the protector, so in a move of brilliance I tried to wipe it off with a microfiber cloth . . .
At that point I gained about 100 new pieces of lint. Brilliant.

Second attempt was money.

When they open tomorrow i am going to call them and see if they can find it in their hearts to fix it for mwah. Do you think if i say i have a crappy hinge they will replace it or just fix it?

quick question what screen protectors did you use?

if it was hori you should have read the manual
use tape to get rid on anything on the screen
i think the same applies to any non-adhesive (static) screen protectors

DAMN YOU MANUAL!!!!!!

Edit: even b4 the screen protector fail, i still had a small scratch so, i guess it's not too much of a failure....

I used department store cheapo brand, but I still should have known better.

@ OP If you bought your system from Walmart or Target, try to find your reciept and return it. Their return periods are 90 days IIRC.

@OP again-- less.

Thats ridiculous its not even the screen thats scratched its the plastic barrier between the screen that is. not only that how does a screen make up for 3/4ths the price of a product... dont send it in for repairs.

does no one read manuals anymore? >_>

yeah 175 is a hefty price to fix the damn thing

nintendo should at least give out screen protectors or something along those lines, their fault for the design problem
