A good idea would be to take all the games rated "essential" from the essentials list and use the ones released in 2008. You should get several from there pretty quickly.

My personal Top 10 of 2008
[*]Chrono Trigger[*]Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[*]Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia[*]Final Fantasy IV[*]Advance Wars: Days of Ruin[*]Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword[*]Kirby Super Star Ultra[*]Professor Layton and the Curious Village[*]Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon[*]Rondo of Swords
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates just misses out.

Luminous Arc 2, The World Ends with You, Disgaea DS, Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard, and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift all get an honourable mention, but I didn't play enough of them to put them in my top 10. I'm sure once I get round to finishing them my top 10 may look a little different.

DQ IV
FF IV
FF Tactics A2
Layton
Advance Wars
Castlevania OOE

And a few others. I mean, listing these makes me feel awed by the amount of amazing games for the NDS. I play the DS way more than PS3 and 360 combined. Lets hope 2009 is just as great!

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
