awesome tool^^

since my problem with the drifting of my right joy-con gets worse, i´d like to try to fix this.. but somehow i dont know what i should do in the calibration settings and how i´ve to change the variables :/
change the deadzone? or something else? and how?^^ thx in advance

Hi! I'm having a bit of an issue. I've got everything set up, except when I try to open the editor, it thinks that my pro controller is a nonexistent left Joy-Con. How can I fix this so I can actually change my pro controller's color?

Is it possible to restore a bad backup, that will brick it and not allow it to be paired again, so it is impossible to restore any backup including a good one?

This made me LOL.

*bricks girlfriends joy-con*

"April fools in December babe!" Lol

Send me your SPI backup in PM

I picked up a wireless PowerA GameCube controller, and I am wondering if I can change the display colors for the grips. The controller looks identical to the standard Pro controller when looking at the controller menu.

Quick question, is it possible to edit/modify the home button LED at all on a pro controller or joy con? Either to change the color of it, or change the behavior of it so that it is always on etc? I tried looking for setting but did not see anything.

Also, does this only work for wireless bluetooth controllers? I wouldn't be able to use my USB GC controller adapter and change my GC controller colors would I?

I second this. I've heard there is a debug command code to enable permanently but I have not been able to figure this out.

If anyone here can help...

I'm thinking about getting the 8BITDO NES DIY kit and was wondering something.
With the NES Switch controllers released and showing as NES Controllers on the system, can we use the toolkit to change the Icon of the 8BITDO controller from Pro to NES?

Nope

Is it possible to change the handedness of a controller using this toolkit somehow?
I have a weird motherboard for a joycon that thinks it's a right joycon but the board is actually for a left joycon.
It would be really cool if I could rewrite that part of the configuration to make the joycon come to it senses.

You can't. All 3rd party controllers/adapters don't expose write access to SPI. They are mostly hardcoded.

You can modify the hw and change the leds.

As for flashing etc, switch now resets it.

The app is for BT ones. I have commented functions that use USB though. Tested them before with MAGIC-NS.

Yes you can and it's pretty easy.

On debug panel, search for a tiny button below the cmd window. It will highlight as you pass over it. Click it. This will enable full debug mode and you'll be able to write to the SPI.
Then cmd 01, subcmd 11, subcmd args: 12 60 00 00 01 01

hint: the button is at the bottom left of the debug commands pane :P

That did indeed work, and that's pretty damn awesome.
Tomorrow sir, when I have woken up, you're getting a beer.

So now I have a working joycon with the serial number ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ and MAC address FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF. Awesome.

Odd question: Has anyone received a console ban for using this toolkit to modify their joycon data? Example: If I use this tool to change the colors of my joycon to match the shells I gave them, am I setting myself up for a ban? No other factors, just this. Thanks!
