Why can't Sega make a game like this these days? It feels exactly like a new "Sega of the 90s" Sonic. The team behind it have done a fantastic job. The music is brilliant too.

I used to love Fan made Sonic games. I planned on making one a long time ago with a few others from SFGHQ, but it got canned, like most fan games do.

Well although I played XG a while ago, I still find it enjoyable

Make a game like this and I think many people will be very happy indeed.

Excellent demo, I thought it was awesome.

Just a couple of points:
- A bit too much right-to-left - in all the genesis games the vast majority of movement was left-to-right, but at parts where it was the other way it was generally very obvious that you were going in the correct direction. In this demo it got just a tad confusing in places.
- Backtracking should only be necessary over very small distances and kept to a minimum. I flew into a 'secret area' with tails, expecting to find a another path that would let me join the rest of the level. Instead I had to go back out the way I came in.


Oh by the way, if you find the giant ring that lets you into the secret level, don't jump into it because nothing will happen and you'll have to restart (well that's what happened for me with knuckles at least).

Need a controller for stuff like this... regardless, it's looking mighty nice.

Use a gamepad, and then use JoyToKey, a keyboard+mouse emulator that enables the usage of the gamepad instead of pressing keys.

Not exactly, I've entered the special stage with Knuckles, finished it, and earned a Chaos Emerald, so I know it works.

However, when I played with Tails, I also had to restart.

Knuckles glides to fast and you get stuck in tubes if you don't spin dash into them.
