Came across this on YouTube and if you don't know the language, that's Portuguese and essentially it goes like this: Son decides to leave home and the parents decide to sell his stuff on a eBay/Mercari-like marketplace.

Let's say this were real, do these parents not realize their son did not authorize them to sell any of it and he'd want to take it later with him (whether to keep or sell). Shit like this breaks trust and credibility between family members if/when it happens.

And not to get off-topic, but if he kept that PS4 Pro on 9.00 or less it'd be worth a lot more than measly $160 (approx. conversion from €150). That's just something parents should never do.

Wow! All that was inferred just from an ad?

It's just an ad! It doesn't have to make sense at all!

They don't care if the story being told is real or not (99.9% of the ads have fake stories), or if the product they're selling are good or not at all!
They must enhance the good things the product has (if any), and divert viewers attention from all the bad things.

I'd say you're over reacting for a nonsense-context ad. No offense meant ofc.

This is just an ad, too:

Bad ads have got to be called out. They're supposed to make people interested, not sway them away.

True true. But I'm one of those persons who don't even really look at commercials. :)

This ad is barely related to gaming at all..?

And if that's one of the "worst and dumbest ads I've seen related to gaming", you must not have seen a lot of ads.

Context between both ads is not the same.

Caring about racism in all its forms shouldn't be compared with a mother selling son's consoles, the first situation is about people that has more importance over "things". When someone dies it can't be replaced.
