I know wii now is kinda cheap. is it worth it to buy one now? never played one before. Can you guys summarize all the things I need to know about WII? pros and cons and game library? Thanks! I've been thinking of bringing one home this Christmas
no wait for the wiiu it will be back compatible. and it will be out early next year.
Oh really? And where is the source for this?

Nintendo also noted that the console remains on track from a launch sometime "between the start of the 2012 E3 Expo in June, and the end of 2012." We're gonna go ahead and call that "the second half of 2012," if you don't mind.

That'll be interesting...a console with a money slot next to it, where you have to put in money each time you want to play a non-wiiU game.Yes, but can it play Wii games for free?
I dun think so.

Yeah, yeah...I know. You meant to say "illegally downloaded copies of the game". But seriously: the wiiu will be able to play wii games. For free. In addition, you'll be able to reuse the same controllers on the wiiU.
Ain't exactly fair to hold it as a disadvantage of buying a wii, now is it?That'll be interesting...a console with a money slot next to it, where you have to put in money each time you want to play a non-wiiU game.Yes, but can it play Wii games for free?

Ain't free if I have to pay for the game, now is it?
The balance board is price/quality wise a good investment if you want to keep fit (compared to other fitness appliances), but the fun wears off once you find out that it actually takes EFFORT to work out.
thanks for the input guys! I think I might just buy one this weekend a few more questions:
1.) Is there anything I have to watch out for? I mean all WII can be hacked right?
2.) essential peripherals? I wont be buying many so I only need the most essential. I'll be playing zelda and mario titles (sorry if its outdated I dont know a lot of games on WII)
There is a game for it: Punch-out. But while it is a pretty entertaining game, I must warn you that the balance board support is an "on-off" situation. So either you dodge all the way or not at all. And that ruins the illusion of "being the boxer" rather hard.Im thinking of getting a balance board, but I dunno... Its a shame theres not many real games that uses it. A boxing game would be quite fun. Lean to dodge etc
