TWEWY was AWESOME in my opinion, and I can't believe how many people hate it...

It seems like most people just didnt like or 'get' the battle system, but it was perfectly fine for me.

I mean, like the previous post said..

The whole point was to try and be efficient - kill as much as you can below, then do combos to build up the gauge, etc...

ANYWAY I don't think they should make a sequel - a lighthearted spin-off could be cool, but I'd prefer they make more original games... :/

The story in TWEWY was way more immersive than any FF game on DS, in my opinion, so I dunno why so many people are bashing it >:

Lol everyone likes different games. I'll play FF (When it's not so dull it has the same damn story and forced storyline) and I'll play Shin Megami, or games like TWEWY, but I just didn't get into TWEWY, wasn't my cup of tea, guess I wanted coffee.

The story is great, but it required a bit of understanding of how deep they built it to actually enjoy it. There was a shallow level of understanding, and a very deep understanding. Chances are if you only hit the shallow level, you found it lame.

It's like poetry in the sense that you probably don't like poetry if you don't understand what it's trying to say. You'd think it just sounded stupid or weird.

I said it before, but a lot of people definitely didn't like the battle system because, like you said, they really didn't understand it. People always bitch about it being cluttered, but after an hour of playing...it never felt cluttered for me. I mean the game has perfect measures in place so you don't clutter the battle system for yourself, unless you're completely inept and can't read instructions and tips.
The battle system was massive though. There is an INSANE amount of pins to get, and most are difference from eachother.

People are also so scared to like Japanese things, that was another reason tossed around. Which is sad. Besides jRPGs I couldn't care less about Japan. I hate the language, and I find most anime series terrible. Yet I still liked this very japanese-esque game. So it really isn't a valid excuse not to like the game if someone like me can look past the japanese influence and still love the game.

It's fine to dislike the game methinks, but I think a lot of people don't actually give it a real chance. They hate it because it's popular, or for some other shit reason. Which annoys me. People can genuinely dislike something all they want, but if a person doesn't have a real opinion on something...they shouldn't jump to a conclusion of hate.

Exactly my point, except I hated the game cause every time I played it, it gave me a headache. There's certain feelings a person can get for a game and mine weren't very positive. I gave it three chances before it struck out.

rant:
But I think, Hells Malice, another reason a lot of people love the game is because they're those f***ing kids who wish they were Japanese.

I'm about sick of kids like this. Kids who have Sephiroth as their avatar, who speak faux Japanese words in casual conversation to make them sound cooler. (or should that be nise?) It annoys the crap out of me. They watch Anime because they think it's cool to like anime, and talk in really loud voices about "that awesome manga I just read". Kids who say that the one place they would go if they had the whole world to travel to would be JAPAN. I am not racist in any way but.. You couldn't think of anywhere better to go? Grand Canyon? The Arctic Circle? Chernobyl?
/rant

That being said, I completely agree with you about the game's storyline being poetic, in a sense, and multi-layered. Brilliant game, I can't say it enough. I just hate a lot of the fans of it.

Agreed.

I can be quite a weaboo at times, but I didn't like the game because it was to do with Japan- I just loved the game for its story and characters.

I know what you mean, but I have Sephiroth as my avatar on a few things cause he's a stud muffin, in my opinion. I can't stand kids who pretend to be Japanese or overly obsessed with Japan simply cause of the anime/manga, so they learn Japanese, not for something useful like translating a game or for the challenge or just to learn another language, but because of they are obsessed.. I used to hate anime and manga because of this exact reason, but now I love certain ones. You have to admit, some are pretty good. But there's nothing any of us can do about it, they're going to be who they are, even if we don't like it. I prefer to visit Iceland, but Japan's cool too, haha. I'd like to go to China and Japan to learn about robots, then come back and make something better.

As I said, I didn't like the game because it gave me a headache, but some people enjoyed it, a lot of people enjoyed it, I just hope if they make a second one, it's not making my brain throb in pain instead of excitement.
