US version of Paper Mario has reached 100% decompilation progress. Once the work is finished on a PC port, we may start to see some ports in the coming months/years for consoles.

Regarding OpenTyrian, the changelog says:

All scalers are now set to center vertical output on a 4:3 display (at 320x240 [none] or 640x480 [2x, scale2x]). [...] Therefore None, 2x and scale2x are now all open again.

As I like non-smoothed pixel graphics (Scale2x blurs things too much, 2x is rather acceptable), I wanted to set "scaler" to "none" in the config file. But when launching the game, it reverts to "Scale2x" (btw, on 1.8, the setting is not saved in-game -switching between 2x and Scale 2x does nothing-, it has to be set manually in the "opentyrian.conf" file)

Code:
{
    "video":    {
        "fullscreen":    false,
        "scaler":    "none"
    }
}

Maybe it is not the good syntax?

Hi @niuus !
Can you please add chro.mono too? https://www.mardy.it/blog/2025/04/porting-opengl-games-to-the-nintendo-wii-chomono.html (there's a link to the github releases in the post).
Hi @mudrik!

Sure thing, i'll be adding that and BillardGL. BTW, your blog title says cho.mono.

I found on my SD a version I used a long time ago, 2.3.0, downloaded from here. Is that a different project of this one linked in your blog?

EDIT: updated thread with some more ports.

Oops, fixed, thanks!

It's a different version, this is the older chro.mono, since chro.mono 2 is not open source (or free of charge).

that limewire link for scummvm 2.7.1 is going to expire soon, might want to get it reuploaded to a better site

It was just for one particular user needing that version. Could be reuploaded later, which is less than likely someone will need it again.

Would be a Jagged Alliance port for the wii feasible? I know it's designed to be played with mouse and keyboard, but a classic controller should also handle all the commands for the game. The source code should be somewhere to find. I mean it's pretty old, but still gold. And there is a gold edition with an add-on. What you guys think about it?

That this thread isn't to make your "please port this for me" posts.

The thread purpose is to showcade ports to the Wii, not to request them.

I'll try to clarify a bit about the different versions of Quake:
RevPak version 4 is the most recent, it's compatible with Quake 1 and Missions 1 and 2, and it's also compatible with Quake 2 and its two missions, and it has support for effects and music.

I can't get Quake Piko 0.09 to work with music; it only has effects. It also only seems to be compatible with Quake; Missions 1 and 2 don't work.

QuakeGX is compatible with Quake 1 and Missions 1 and 2, but I can't get the music to work.

Conclusions and questions:

There's only one option to play Quake 2 and Missions 1 and 2, and that's QuakeRevPak 4.

I don't see any reason to use the Quake Piko version, since although Quake GX is older, in my opinion it's a superior version.

QuakeGX: This version clearly has the best graphics. It looks much better than QuakeRev4, and I also like the Wii Remote + Nunchuck controls better. It has a D-pad for aiming, and Wii Remote movement feels more natural, and you don't have to press the A button like QuakeRevPack 4.

What are your experiences with the different versions of Quake?

How did you name the music files in Quake 1.
Mine are in ogg format and aren't working.

Also quakeGX and QRevPak R4 use the same graphics. Before you load the game in RevPak, check the box in the bottom left, "enable GX accelerated graphics".

I was never able to get music working in any of the Wii ports of Quake, usually just a crash and error out. Also you forgot to mention there's the Tyrquake libretro port which also works on Wii - this one is mostly notable as it's the only way you can play Quake on the Wii at 240p and maybe get music working although I didn't try it.

Ooh, perfect, thanks a lot, water_kooler. I knew about this option, but for some reason I erased it from my memory.

I have the music working in:

Quake 1 and 2
Quake I Mission Pack 1 - Scourge of Armagon
Quake I Mission Pack 2 - Dissolution of Eternity
Quake II Mission Pack 1 - The Reckoning
Quake II Mission Pack 1 - The Reckoning

The songs are in .ogg format - 128 kb/s - 44100 Hz.

The paths are as follows:
Q1/hipnotic/cdtracks
Q1/id1/cdtracks/
Q1/rogue/cdtracks/
Q2/baseq/cdtracks/
Q2/rogue/cdtracks/
Q2/xatrix/cdtracks/

The song names They are:
Track02
Track03
Track04
Track05
Track06
Track06
Track07
Track08
Track09
Track10
Track11

Only 10 songs are supported.

My tracks are 64 kb/s, maybe that's the problem.
Should be 128 kb/s bitrate.
Thanks for the info. :D
