if they have enabled the readback protection.. then its not possible.. or u have to decap it.. or spent money for a decap service...

An other possible option is to reach the SPI flash..
Ill think its also protected, the SPI from Esp32S2 is connected with the Ice40 SPI.

So far i know the Ice40 have NVCM but its difficult to read out because:

The iCE40 devices contains an One Time Programmable on-chip Non Volatile Configuration Memory (NVCM) and if configured, the device boots from it. This is a fast and secure mode of bringing the device into user mode(active with user program) and used for mass production. The NVCM is ONE TIME PROGRAMMABLE.

I’m not even willing to go that far. This is a non existent product with an X account ran by an apparent child. Maybe it’s Nintendo trolling, I would be entertained by this scenario.

You never know. It wouldn't surprise me as it will, for a time, stop people from buying a Mig Flash so they can get they can get the item made 100% illegal and Mig Flash sent to prison.

I bought the Mig Flash & Dumper combo (accidentally bought a second combo pack) and I am more than happy with my purchase as it does exactly what they claim. Now that they fixed the MacOS disconnect issues with the dumper I am even happier. Unless something changes in the immediate future I would just go with Mig Flash as they have followed through with their claims and released a fully working product.

AliExpress is probably your best bet still. Mainly to avoid getting scammed, I guess. All those random shops do not look reassuring to me.

I've wondered whether it's just the Mig team, running a sock puppet account designed to make it look like a competitor is just around the corner, as if to put off any other teams from trying. Sounds a bit far fetched, but let's not forget how the Mig was first announced to the world, through a now deleted sock puppet account, After Time X.

I see that their website is now defunct as well. I think that they even announced its closure at some point? It's somewhat hard to keep up with these guys' ever-changing complicated schedule.

I know there are rumours that there are some Switch 2 units changing hands on the black market, so it's possible they could have tested it I suppose, but seems like a bold claim given Nintendo have probably had their hands on Mig devices for over a year now, possibly enough time to try and prevent such compatibility.

Side note, part of me honestly thinks that the Mig appearing is at least partly responsible for the Switch successor not coming out earlier than this year. Imagine a device launching with piracy enabled from day 0. That sounds like enough of a situation for Nintendo to slam the brakes on the entire release roadmap. Thoughts?

While I do not know where that claim came from, based on past flash carts and what we know about the Switch 2, there might be some truth to that. I know we can't compare past consoles to future consoles but flash carts on the DS were compatible with the 3DS. And we already know that the Switch 2 is backwards compatible with the Switch 1 so at the very least, the Mig Switch can be inserted within the Switch 2.

As for whether or not it affected the release window of the successor, there is evidence that might be the case. For the DS flash carts, Nintendo would occasionally release firmware updates that prevented them from functioning. Of course, the flash cart makers would release their own updates to counteract Nintendo's updates. When it comes to the Nintendo Switch, despite the Mig Switch being out for so long, Nintendo has done nothing to stop it. Its plausible that the reason is there is nothing they can do at least from the software side or they feel like its a lost cause. At any rate, a hardware solution might be more practical which may have impacted the time when the Switch 2 comes out. I've also heard some rumblings from before the Mig Switch even came out that releasing it so close to the end of the Switch 1's life cycle is practically begging for it to be patched on future consoles.

I think the only way you'd catch that is to see how fast the game switching is via system logs to detect if you're switching faster than should normally be possible. If the cart IDs are legit and only in use by one switch, you can't know much.

If they do check the cart switch timing then Mig Flash can just increase the cart switch timing. HOWEVER, there is at least one accessory that lets you have 4 or 8 Switch carts that you can switch between them with a press of a button. Don't remember the name of it.
