Can XCI files dumped for use on the MigSwitch be used on the usual emulators please?
Just a heads up, even tho the odds are low. If you’re on Mac the games dump weird sometimes

Like the XCI will be a folder that can be opened and explored. These won’t open in emulators since that also just sees folders and 3 unlabeled files inside that folder

but they function fine on the MIG

Cheers. I've only dumped them using the switch.

Interestingly, news here (in HK) shows that a couple of guys were arrested for importing a stack of what seems to be Anbernics and the like. The photo also shows a switch with about 8 MIg switches. I can just about see Mig Switches being 'illegal' but the handheld consoles? Maybe they had SD cards with roms etc?

I've tried it. The files 'work' in batocera but not directly from the menu as far as I can see. When you click to play, it bounces you to yuzu and an error. If you then go to the game in yuzu and pick 'start game'. It works. My dump consists of folder with another folder (same name with xci extension) with two subfolders 00 and 01, as well as the BIN files. THe *cough* other backups I've seen have an xci file instead of folder. Was there an option when dumping? I forget.

That’s the same bug I found and listed like 2 replies above yours (the two sub folders 00 and 01

The Dump should work perfect on the flashcart itself still but idk how to fix the folders without redumping the game with an actual modded switch

Hello, my switch got banned after using the mig switch with my own dumped games for about two weeks.

I plan to buy a used switch. Sure, it would be the best to not use the MIG on the un-banned switch. But I would like to ask here, if someone has tipps to prevent a bann.

Respectfully i don’t believe you. Share pictures of what’s on your mig sd card

I’ve been using mine since release with my own dumps and another private (but technically public ) dump and I’m not banned at all

So there’s no way the MIG banned you

Why the duplicated posts?

You are completely right, if the Dump is not used any other place and their certificates matches together there is no way the big Ninjas will tell a game is original or a copy.

You can get banned by put an invalid cartridge dump even if you do not play it, the telemetry on the console is insane thy track each bit of thing happen on your HOS and the report to the servers where is analyzed and ninjas dispatched.

Yep. You really shouldn’t be getting banned if you are only using your own dumped games.

My best guess is that they where using the minimum amount of required files and didn’t have all of the proper cert files so where playing incomplete dumps

To be fair the MiG site did used to say(maybe still does?) that they are the minimum required

I've been thinking about getting the MigSwitch and don't care if I get banned since I never go online. My only concern is game updates. From my understanding, I won't be able to update any games if I'm console banned?

I understand you can still update games locally with another Switch via bluetooth. I don't have anothe Switch but since this is peer-to-peer, has anyone reversed the protocol so we can send updates to ourselves via a Laptop for example? It would theoretically be possible unless they are using some TrustZone keys or something (which I doubt since the updates are signed themselves). I would try to solve this but I don't have a second modded switch to debug the protocol.

You likely won’t id just do a chargeback

Aliexpress still seems like the only trustworthy reseller
Darn. I was thinking of buying from an (apparently) US-based seller. Guess I probably shouldn’t, huh? While I would like to believe that Unlock Switch will amount to something, their attitude has been really off-putting.

Aliexpress isn’t terrible like 10ish days to the US

That’s still not great ngl but by Aliexpress standards that’s amazing
