I dont understand this theres already a working wii homebrew browser whereas its the shop channel that was discontinued so why dont they just continue their original idea? as it was better

The old HBB had old versions of apps and didn't have new homebrew.

We understand where you're coming from, however, we have underestimated how big of a task restoring the Wii Shop Channel actually was, considering that development was barely active, it seemed better at the time to just use HBB for the mean time.

That is still yet to be looked at. If there is any new information I'll be sure to post it here as a reply, however, I'm fairly certain that Larsen and the rest of the team will be sticking to HBB while CompuCat works on HBAS for Wii.
