YEAH!!! I was right. I created a 1024kb file renamed it as .sav and VOILAAAAA works like charm. Even in the first train.

In command prompt i used this command "fsutil file createnew test.sav 1048576" to create an "empty" (in reality it's not) file of 1048576bytes=1024kb, renamed it and copy it to my microsd of course.

Grrr I think there is an option like that (create specific size save file) in AKAIO. Maybe they can add this feature for future problems.

I said 1024kb because N1nt3nd0 always has an addiction of making rom/iso size in powers of 2. Even by adding padding at the end.

I wonder if this would work for the downloadable books problem in 100 Classic Books?

oO I didn't know that I'll try it later.

----EDIT----

I don't know where your 100 classic books stuck, but using a 1024kb sav file makes it work perfect!!! (Like a child i'm reading pinocchio

)

I think you must create a 1024KB dull file and add it in first post...so anyone can take it rename it and use it in every game that wants it...until M3 do something about it

Oups you said downloadable ....I'll test it right now...$#^@ when i try to access the downloaded book it says corrupted data and deletes the book. (Game said i have 985kb space for saving extra books)

----EDIT AGAIN----
For some reason some books work and some not (downloaded ones). What i think is that the game has dynamic size save file and grows as new books add in the list. I thing that with the bigger file size trick we can always download all the books and the last one will always be corrupted. Testing more and report later

----Last thoughts----

I made a 5MB save file and tried again...i saw that the game again said that i have 985KB free for books (and not 4MB+). So I believe that the save file for this game is fixed about 1,5MB ( 512KB standar save + 985KB for extra books, "fsutil file createnew test.sav 1572864" ) BUT from the 10 extra books i can download 7/10 without the game crash (I left out The water Babies, The Merry Wives of Winsdor, The Black Arrow ). If i download any of them the game comes up with a black screen and next time after restart deletes these books.

My though is that IF the game uses 512KB and the extra books that i downloaded until now is about 512KB so M3 can handle only 1MB save file!!! So by downloading books that extend the save file's size more than 1MB makes the save corrupted. This is just my though not sure 100% (Hopefully Zelda uses 980KB

I did some testing on the 1MB file myself (created my own using the command prompt you provided) and had exactly the same results you did. I'm able to download all 10 books, but when I restart the game, I get a message saying the save file is corrupt and 3 books always get deleted. Unfortunately, the same thing happens with a 512KB .sav file, which means the 1MB file doesn't help

I would post the generic .sav file in the first post as you suggested, but it doesn't seem to improve things with 100 Classic Book Collection and there's already a working hacked .sav for Spirit Tracks. When I have time I'll try it on other games that require 1MB+ saves. Thanks for sharing!

Hi

Question, how do I remove touchpod and keep just m3 sakura on my m3 real game card

I am stopped using it a long time ago so I dont see the point in keeping it

Thanks

Richard

EDIT: im having problems with this release, I removed the system folder and copied the new one over and it come up with the disk check and it failed, so I formatted it and copied it back on and now there is no selection screen where I can choose between touchpod or sakura.

I have tried redownloading it, formatting it, copying just the system folder over and still nothing

You can't completely remove TouchPod from Sakura because they share some common files. The best you can do is delete the files that have been most recently modified in the SYSTEM folder (December 10th), but that only amounts to ~20MB, which won't make much of a difference anyway.

So you formatted your card, downloaded the firmware, and put the SYSTEM folder by itself in the root of your card, and you still don't see the selection screen? Do you see a black screen? When you turn on the DS, try holding down the A button until the loader selection screen appears.

I tried holding a and still all that comes up is a black screen

I copied the system that only had touchpod on it and that works fine

Hmm then maybe...another (almost the same) idea. The game says 985kb. But touchpod loader thinks that the game has 512kb save. So first books saved at the first 512kb and the others are out because go further than 512. But again this is just speculations.

Hmmm... this is weird - Just got a notification that the M3i download page has been updated & the Sakura section shows

M3Sakura System Folder Update Ver1.44X 3rd (Europe/USA/Asia)
M3Sakura System Folder Update Ver1.44X 3rd (Japanese)So has Sakura been updated or not ???? - is the '3rd' mention above their way of saying it has been updated (I would've expected '1.45')
There's no mention on their forum, although I've got a reply back from my post on it about the Z:ST problem with Touchpod 4.7 & SDHC cards
- all it says is

Ok, we will look into this. Thanks!
I'm not @ home to try it out - so can't tell you if it now works or not

EDIT: OK Got home & downloaded the suppose update & unfortunately it's not -
When you run the *.msi it comes up with Sakura 1.44 with 4.6 game patch

I just tried that "1.44 3rd" and RTS causes my DS to lock up on the "Now Loading GAME PATCH Ver:4.7 X" screen.

When I switch to TouchPod, everything works, including RTS. Going back to Sakura screws things up. I downloaded the "M3Sakura System Folder Update Ver1.44X 3rd (Europe/USA/Asia)". I even removed my old System folder.

To repeat, I downloaded M3SAKURA_M16.zip and not M3Sakura_Ver_144x_MUL.zip

I've tried both - still no luck with Z:ST - I'm guessing that Sakura still has a problem

Oh and apparently the '3rd' does mean something - according to this mirror site the 'latest' is "Sakura 1.44 2nd edition" (even though it say that no files have been added on the '13th-12-2009') - so I guess they haven't got round to adding the latest Sakura yet

I can confirm Spirit Tracks works on Sakura. Download the "M3Sakura System Folder Update Ver1.44X 3rd (Europe/USA/Asia)" and not the .msi

Turn RTS off and you're done: no freezing at the logo screen and the gearbox and whistle are there.

That's weird - I've downloaded the file you mentioned & it STILL locks up on the Nintendo screen (I ALWAYS have RTS switched off BTW)

Just some questions:
> Are you using the patched or clean Z:ST ?
> What version of ROM are you using (U) or (E) ? - (I've been using the (U) version)
> What size MicroSD card are you using ? - (I know Touchpod 4.7x worked on 2Gb or less but locked up on >2Gb cards)
> Did you add the patched 'sav' file or did you let Sakura create a new one ??

EDIT: AHA - I've found out that you STILL need the 'sav' file to get pass the Nintendo Lockup
But I can also confirm it works with a 'clean ROM' of EITHER (U) or (E) Z:ST even on large SD cards AS LONG AS YOU SUPPLY THE sav FILE FIRST
