To confirm my theory that it only worked in TouchPod, I held A when turning on the DS to select Sakura again. The weird thing was that only after viewing the text files in TouchPod, did it start working in Sakura. But in Sakura, I encountered a bug where I could only view the guide that I most recently accessed while in TouchPod (DQIV). When I tried to view the guide for NSMB, it would keep showing me the guide for DQIV.

I should note that I tried this on the Japanese M3 Real, so maybe that would explain why I got different results (or maybe it was due to an error on my part in copying files, who knows?). I'll try to see if I can duplicate the bug with the U/E firmware. But for now I'm going to change the In-Game Guide instructions based on your results.

my English Real is like that too. however, I only tried three game/text combos.

How to Use the In-Game Guide in TouchPod 4.5 Beta
Since this only works in TouchPod and not Sakura,
if it works in Touchpod, it should also work in Sakura..at least it works on mines
That's weird...here's what happened when I tried it:

I loaded the new system files onto my MicroSD card and and booted into Sakura, and kept getting a "File not found" error whenever I tried to view the guides.

So I booted into TouchPod, then tried to view the guides again. It worked. I was able to view the text files for two different ROMs, NSMB and DQIV (in that order). That's when I thought that maybe it only works in TouchPod.

ok, after a few more tests
here's how it works:
when you enable RTS in Touchpod, the firmware 4.5X game engine will create the neccessary data to be written into realtime.dat (such as the path to gamename.is0, gamename.nds, gamename.txt, etc...), after that, Sakura will be able to find those data and is able to Load the View Guide
but, since Sakura is still using the old 4.4x game engine, it'll not be able to create the gamename.txt data by itself

God damn, like pulling teeth in a candy-addicted ten-year-old with an overbearing fundie mother. Handheldsources.com's download link is, like, totally so not there. It's, like, totally kaput as of this writing, innit though? That's so totally, like, bogus. What...a bummer. Just like...oh...my god. Oh, like, now it's working again. Oh well now it's not. Oh well not it is again. Guy, like, what's its deal? Good thing there are, like, mirrors, y'know? Totally.

Oh well, they still haven't fixed the issues with the Cheat Menu that were previously fixed, such as the text not matching the Skin (so appears black on black with Chaos Black for instance) or the top-screen display for enormously elongated cheat names (or maybe I missed that).
Yay, Pokemon HeartGold remembers my save file exists!
Yay, M&L, Bowser's Inside Story (I still can't believe Bowser doesn't get top billing in this game, either) actually gets past the loading screen now.
And KHDS seems to work too.

Wake me in 2010 for Sands of Destruction and whatever other games I forgot might be coming out then.

Densetsu3000 you can remove the In-Game Guide from Suggestions.I removed it, thanks for reminding me!

QUOTE(Flame™ @ Oct 3 2009, 04:24 AM) was the font folder like that before?
The font folder? I haven't looked, I just downloaded it from the official site, extracted the SYSTEM folder, zipped it and uploaded it. I didn't touch any of the files since everything is up-to-date. I didn't even have to add Narin's cheat.db because M3 already included it themselves. What's up with the font folder?

I mean like the font folder didn't contain anything before, now it has stuff. Maybe the team are planing to add the ability to change the font type but it isn't finished yet?

Wow I can't believe no one's posted this yet, but linfox domain is another site alot like handheld sources but they have all downloads for all Sakura and many other things. Also they have alot better hosting.

Only problem is it takes them maybe a day to get the new download up.

BUT it's up now, so enjoy.

I thought everyone knew about linfox

That's where I downloaded v1.42, since handheldsources was really slow.

Anyway, just so everyone knows, I've had the newest version uploaded for the past several hours.

Maybe to do with the fact that the font size option doesn't actually function when reading .txt files?

hey just a quick suggestion: Could you possibly change the archive to rar instead of .7 please? I think its a more universal format, especially for linux users.
Edit:well got it on another computer, and bowsers inside story works in sakura!

7zip is open source, which winrar isn't. the Linux community frown upon non-open source. Anyway 7zip is much better, its faster, lightweight and free.

but you get that pop-up thingy, also .7z format is better than .rar format (compress more).

How do i get Sakura 1.42 & iTouch 3.3 ?

I read this ,but there no explanation or tutorial on this.

dsrules said:
well, you could still update the Sakura 1.12+ game engine to match Sakura 1.41, iTouch 3.2E and Touchpod 4.1i , so iSakuReal Triple boot is not really that outdated, you just lose the RTS, instant codes and delete functions in Sakura 1.12+ compared to Sakura 1.41

I try this still did not work...

QUOTE(dsrules @ Sep 6 2009, 06:35 PM) you want iSakuREAL = Sakura 1.12+ & iTouch 3.3 & Touchpod 4.3j
or Sakura 1.41 & iTouch 3.3 & Touchpod 4.3j

anyways, to update iTouch to 3.3

1. google this: iTouch_ENG_BAT.rar
2. unzip it to a folder on your pc
3. copy iTouch.eng and it_firegame.eng from 3.3 to the same folder
4. run iTDSeng.bat to get a modified version of both files
5. copy iTouch 3.3 to your microsd
6. copy the modified iTouch.eng and it_firegame.eng to your iTouch folder

I have a question about M3Sakura, you know the little "recently accessed files" thing, when you hold the stylus on one of the items, a little segmented pie chart-thing fills in around the spot you touch. If you hold the stylus there until it completes, the file then launches just like when you simply tap an item or press the correct face button. One of my favorite homebrews, Triple Triad(the card game thing from Final Fantasy VIII) never worked with M3Sakura, it just went to white screens, but when I tried launching it from the recently accessed files list by letting the pie chart thing fill in completely, it worked! I repeated the process over and over again and each time I did it the file launched just like it is supposed to.
yaynds.gif

What is the pie-chart-launching-method supposed to be, and what does it do differently that allows it to launch a file that would otherwise be completely non-functional on M3Sakura??

When you do the "pie-chart-loading method" on a game, it's the same as going into the NDS or GBA game settings. I've never heard of getting homebrew to work using this method before, but that's pretty cool

I use .7z because it compresses much better than .rar, but if everyone else can deal with a download that's nearly 3MB larger in exchange for OS compatibility, sure, I can re-upload it.

*EDIT*
GBAtemp isn't letting me upload anything right now, I keep getting a connection timeout. I'll try again later.

Just a tip, this doesn't work for every homebrew out there. I tried it for Warcraft Tower Defense, and it didn't work. The only way I can get WTD to work still is by launching it via DSKiosk.
