Throw the M3i Zero GMP-Z003 away and buy a better flashcard. Sadly this nor any other alternate firmware will work on it. M3 Team spent months making that card just to lock out my firmware because they don't like alternate firmwares, so they made a half assed card that has been proven to be totally broken.
Might I suggest you invest in a better flashcard like an R4i Gold so you can use Wood or even an Acekard 2i, hell if you are feeling up to it, buy a Supercard Two. You are better off just avoiding M3 cards.

Damn, I got the M3i to use on my 3DS. I didn't even know about this new version, it's just what they happened to send me. Why the hell would they block out alternate fws? Surely it would help them sell more carts if nothing else. Once you have paid them for the cart they aren't making any more money out of you regardless of what fw you run on it. What a bunch of pricks! If they are going to force me to use their fw they could at least make the bloody thing work properly. Professor Layton and the Unwound future simply does not work on Sakura or Touch Pod anymore.
What other cards work on the 3DS?

if you have good budget i would go for SuperCard DSTWO, it is the top ds flash card atm i think but if you are low on budget i would go with AceKard 2i , both work on 3DS but you'll need an older DS System to update the card to work with 3ds.. but ak2i has great support from their team , same for SC DSTWO

I would have had a better budget if I didn't waste $20 on the M3i Zero

Would these be ok?

Why is the SuperCard DSTWO so much more expensive than the AK2i? Sorry to go off topic here, just want decent card with good compatibility that works on the 3DS. I was hoping to use the quad boot on my M3i Zero, but because it's the crappy new version I can't

well SC DSTWO has the ability to run GBA and SNES Games using an emulator and no need for slot 2 cards, it has great homebrew and everything else...

ak2i cant do the emulation etc but is very good too

i dont know about good sites to buy stuff... i dont even remember where i bought my m3i zero xDDD

but if someone could link us 2 to a good site to get a real ak2i / sc dstwo, i would be really thank ful, i really need a 2nd flash card, so my brother can play and so i can have more possibilitys to play games

if i get a sc dstwo or a ak2i ( or both, who knows) i will do a video review for them as well

The Supercard Two has a built into CPU and Ram so it can play GBA and SNES games through emulators as well as tons of features.
But it does suck up a little bit of extra battery life.

I'm so glad I didn't buy the new M3i 0! I bought it once it 1st came out & I just finally tried out The M3 Quad-Boot after over a year of waiting....I must say that this is some of thee best work I've seen since the multi-boot for the Supercard DSi. Now that was fun working on, but this..This is pure gold! I applaud all of thee people who worked on this project. Thank You All!!! =D

You don't need to back up and reformat every time (though it is recommended) all you need to do is just copy over the updated folder and that's it.

so i just need to copy over the new files and replace the olders with the new ones... and its done? xD

well this got updated today and i had 2 games saying that the nds was fragmented ( rom i think) and to desfragment using PC (this with woodm3) and saw that this got updated so i made a backup, formatted the card ( because of the error ) and decided to update it as i saw this

anyways i'll just copy the backup to the card and replace the files with the new ones, that should do it right?

Ah, for those roms that are fragmented, you don't need to reformat your card. All you need to do is, move the .nds and .sav from your card onto your computer, then move it back.

Lol

The best thing you can do is help me keep track of all the updates
Which means stalking watching these 2 sites
http://www.gbalpha.cn/China/index.htm
http://www.r4rts.com/
And this thread
http://gbatemp.net/t267243-retrogamefan-updates-releases

And just shooting me a PM or leaving a post so that way I know they updated

This would be just a matter of subscribing to an RSS feed...if there was any. :/
Guess the webpages webmasters are a bit old fashioned, what a shame.
Would be a lot less of a hassle to keep track of the pages then.

Yeah, I know.
Which is why I need people to help me keep track of all of them and give me the heads up when they update.

Here's a rough RSS feed for the R4 changelog, the GBAlpha one might be harder to set up since it's in Chinese and confusing for me to look at. What information, exactly, are you trying to get off of the GBAlpha page?
http://feed43.com/r4sdhc.xml

If anyone else wants to give it a try, you can make your own feeds at feed43.com

edit: This one is better formatted, but has less information. It's from the release list on the front page.
http://feed43.com/r4isdhc.xml

edit: This is a feed for M3Adapter.com, which seems to have all of the same info as GBAlpha, but in English.
http://feed43.com/m3adapter.xml

edit: Here's a feed from GBAlpha of what I assume is the info you're trying to track (the leftmost news pane on the front page). It won't extract the Chinese characters, so you only get garbled nonsense mixed with English words, but unless you read Chinese that's all you were getting anyway.
