The GameBoy Micro is out!

It was just released in Japan. According to IGN: "this week Nintendo will unleash the Game Boy Micro in the US. Two versions of the system will be launched in this territory: Black and Silver, and both will retail for $99.99 each. Both systems will feature three faceplates that can be interchanged."

Ya know despite the interesting design this thing really does have to take first place for most redundant and pointless release in history.

Seeing an NES faceplate for it will be cool but much like the DS the lack of GB/GBC support means I'm not buying it. Not that I would nayway cuz I already have 4 GBAs. Also I really do hope Nintendo one day makes a damn DS that has GB/GBC support and complete GBA support so I can have a use for one.

I actually think the micro is the best thing Nintendo has done for handhelds in a long time. The new design has style, but more importantly it's actually portable. The SP is good, but I can't stand the huge size of the DS and PSP. They're too big to fit comfortably in my pocket, and that defeats the purpose for me.

I do think it's overpriced though.

Released... ALREADY?... Wait, what year do we have? Maybe i did a time warp! Yeah! I can invent a time machine. That's better than all this GB Micro crap. Nuff' said.

Pfft - the least most people around these parts could do is buy a Micro - after all, it's not like you buy your games!

Heh.

I see a lot of potential for the Micro, but I want to get one in my hands first.

I've been waiting for a hardware upgrade for a while (skipped DS and SP because they felt bad).

Bright backlit screen, portable size, faceplates...it's finally time to retire the afterburnerGBA. I'm hoping I can remove the paint from one faceplate (making it transparent) so i can wedge my own templates behind it.

I do! Only the good ones. I don't see a difference between flashing and trying a game and renting/hiring from a place like Blockbuster... I don't like rental places so I'd rather not give them my money.

This seems cool, but kind of pointless for me, unless there's a price drop.

I don't care about it because Nintendo steals our money so I am happy with Nintendo DS and GBA and (sony PSP) thats all. GBA and this new one can play the same carts and I think they redesign a better one but no differences. That is ridiculous. It is waste of money so GBA is fine. Sorry, Nintendo but no thanks.

Sooo expensive, dam you Nintendo! This is what the first GBA should have been like. I'll wait a couple of years and pick one up cheap for next to nothing...

This is something people would be more inclined to play in public, including myself

if it plays flashcarts I may get one, even though I have a GBA and DS

The Micro also prolongs the life of the GBA which is always good
