i follow the guide
1) Right Click on the region, and then copy
2) Right Click on my custom cheat list and paste

but it doesnt go into my cheat list, it creats like its its own cheat list

That's what it's supposed to do. This allows you to browse to the local code lists directory and grab the XML file.

Yup, game ID has changed because you've made the ROM a different size than the original. Don't think you'll be able to make this edited rom work unless you know how cheat cartidges read the game ID, and then find the game ID again.

thanks for the reply.. so there's no hope right? :'(

i mean, if i want to use the cheat function of this game, ill have to use the original "clean" rom? oh well.. i guess my consolation in this situation is that, i will no longer hear that 30 year old megaman voice from the english rom..

There's always hope. Just use sappharads ards code editor to get the game id of your modified rom and then change the id in your cheats list.

http://projects.sappharad.com/tools/ardseditor.html

I just tested this method personaly on my rumble patched Metroid Pinball rom and it worked nicely.

i'm trying to import this XML file (porkchop's mkds codes) into the R4 Cheat Code Editor but every time it tells me 'The xml file format is error'.

i've been over the xml a few times and as far as i can tell there are no errors.. also the AR DS Code Editor opens the file with no problems.

has anyone else run into this problem?

edit: i've tracked down the problem, it's AR codes that include 'on' like this one -

CODE ÂÂÂÂÂ
ÂPress L for Offline courses and battle tracks
ÂCREDIT GOES TO PORKCHOP (twilight house credit to Squake)

is there an equivalent for the R4 Code Editor?

Try removing the "on"
Do you know what the "on" represents?

With the new software update for the R4, it states that you can select which cheat database you want to use. Do you still need to create a blank cheat.dat, or is there a way to store both user and default cheats now?

You can use them both now, and for games that have user cheats and default ones, TWO cheat buttons appear now. Looks stupid, I think...

I just use user cheats, no need to have cheats for games I don't play...
