You can always buy the japan unit, disassemble it, and proceed to swap out the circuit boards. The region block is software only. Nothing from stopping you from physically swapping out the main circuit board on them essentially transplanting the USA 3DS into the Japan's Red & Black shell.

You can then just resale the Japan unit as a standard 3DS to recoup some of the cost.

In other words what looks like a standard 3DS in black/aqua blue is in fact the innards of Japanese 3Ds.

In other other words a dupe, a rip off, a deliberate con. Keep the US/Euro DS in the nice Jap region only red case and fuck the poor unsuspecting bastard that buys the black/Aqua Blue case wit the swapped out Japanese actual DS within.

No he means red and black in one console. So the outside will be red but the inside of the top screen will be black because of the 3d effect needing it to be black (allegedly)
