Looks like you can finally buy The Beatles songs on iTunes.
I even saw The Beatles box set with all their songs, but it's not cheap.

Apple Recordings and Apple Computers finally settled their differences then? Apple screwed Apple Recordings over when their went back on their promise never to go into the music industry.

They had an agreement. Apple computers were allowed to use the name "Apple" on the condition that they stay away from music publishing. And then came iTunes...

I can easily name a dozen places (although not on this site) you could already download the Beatles entire discography before today. The sudden opportunity to do this at your own expense further lining Apple's already over-burdened pockets isn't newsworthy at all.

I hate Apple for trying to make a sensation out of everything.

It's just a thing between the two companies. You could already buy or download their music at millions of other places. So what's the big deal?

this news is too little, way too late. not nearly the shocker that apple made it out to be.

and for the person about the album art, you could have gotten it a long time ago from the beatles' own website.

i'll stick to my v0 ripped remastered box set.

I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but I don't see all the hype about them on iTunes. -_-
Serious fan buy the real thing, not some digital delivery stuff (and in the case, would probably just get the mp3 from somewhere).

/me is waiting for real new Apple stuff

Yeah, except Apple isn't a publishing company, they are a distributor of music which they do through the record labels just like a record store sells CD's with the permission of the record labels via their distributors. There is no difference between iTunes selling music digitally then going to a store to buy music aside from one is a hard copy and the other isn't

Sales wise so far despite the media attention its not going down as well as predicted.

When this was rumoured a couple of years go there was talk of The Beatles pretty much owning the Top 40 singles chart when their stuff hit iTunes, of course this was before all the remastered re-releases that people ate up last year.

So far "Here Comes the Sun" is the only Beatles song that has made the iTunes top 20 and so far no song is in the midweek sales for the proper top 40.

Of course either way the two living Beatles and the wives of the Lennon and Harrison are gonna be earning more money for very little work, shit I wish I owned even minor one song off Please Please Me.
